Colliers Project Leaders is experiencing unprecedented growth. We seek a Project Manager – Furniture to join our team and work with our valued public and private sector clients across number of different environments, such as corporate office and education, but particularly in healthcare.
This is a leadership opportunity suited for someone with experience in furniture planning and selection where they can assist clients by facilitating discussion about how to populate their new spaces with furniture that supports optimal working scenarios. From open offices to private offices, from boardrooms to lunchrooms, and from quiet study spaces to lounge spaces, you will manage all aspects of furniture planning and procurement for a wide diversity of projects and clients. As a valued resource you will bring 7+ years of furniture and interior design management experience combined with broader project management capabilities.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to work closely with clients (owners and architecture teams) to provide optimal furniture planning solutions within their unique environments. Taking the operational requirements of the space, you work with users to offer various furniture options for their consideration, so that furniture requirements can be refined to the point that technical and performance specification can be developed for open procurement purposes. The development of detailed planning documents (furniture lists, budgets, etc.) is completed with information obtained from user sources, as well as established furniture standards, transferring inventory information, etc. This role will also include activity on Public Private Partnership (P3) projects in the development of output specifications for projects in all sectors including Health Care, as well as compliance reviews and ProjectCo oversight related to furniture planning and procurement activity. And in many cases, you will work with clients to develop furniture standards for application in ongoing operational and project furniture requirements into the future.
You will lead the development of furniture procurement documents and analyze responses, giving your clients recommendations on the best solutions based on the established evaluation criteria. You will work with successful vendors to review and approve shop drawings, select materials and finish selections, finalize quotations, and coordinate delivery and installation of the finished product within these spaces.

What you’ll get to do as a Project Manager:
Work on a wide diversity of projects (all sectors, all sizes) throughout Canada
Assist and/or lead the development of proposal responses, including scope development and pricing
Lead the planning and programming of projects involving FF&E design, specifications, procurement, and implementation.
Facilitate User Group and Senior Stakeholder design and project meetings.
Develop furniture standards
Develop project documentation, tender and procurement documents
Interact with consultant teams in the development and effective implementation of project plans related to building space planning and design
Provide oversight and guidance to assistant project managers on FF&E scope - planning, design, specifications, selection, procurement and installation
Give evidence that project consultants, contractors or suppliers have provided services in accordance with the contract requirements
Populate / space plan AutoCAD / Revit drawings with furniture and equipment blocks
Develop and maintain AutoCAD / Revit blocks and standards
Liaise with end users and consultants on project execution
Coordinate activities to ensure design outcomes meet stated requirements
Work within our EPA2 equipment and furniture database as applicable
Review drawings and specifications to assist in ensuring the awarding of contracts to qualified, cost effective and knowledgeable contractors/vendors.
Ensure that deliverables are identified and fulfilled for our client partners
Develop output specifications (PSOS) and provide compliance reviews and feedback on Public Private Partnership (P3) projects
Create and lead client meetings and presentations
Coordinate and manage showroom tours and installation visits
Undertake deficiency reviews and project close-out activities
Undertake furniture and equipment inventory tasks
What you’ll need to be successful:
A portfolio of work demonstrating design leadership on building development and redevelopment projects involving primary experience in FF&E (particularly furniture) in at least one of the following sectors - corporate office, education, healthcare or social infrastructure.
Diploma or Degree in Architecture or Interior Design, or a combination of experience and education. NCIDQ certification would be considered an asset. Knowledge of National building code considered an asset.
Expertise in space planning and furniture and fixtures specification, estimation, procurement and selection.
Experience in preparing and writing reports, specifications, budgets and RFP’s.
Ability to mentor, train and organize the efforts of design professionals
Skilled in managing client expectations, team communication and consultant coordination
Excellent oral and written communication skills and effective presentation skills.
Hands on proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit.
Willingness to travel Nationally on rare occasions.
