Sr. Operations Leader, East York Bakery

Job Description

Under the direction of the Cluster Leader, the Sr. Operations Leader is responsible for the overall conversion process (from materials call-off to finish goods delivering to warehousing) covering all SQCDSM elements. They are also responsible for the Materials Management Organization, overseeing that the right systems and processes are in place to ensure the production plans, together with the material ordering and delivering, as well as shipping, meet the regional customer service metrics.

The Sr. Operations Leader is the single point of contact for decisions that need to be made when the Cluster Director is not on-site.

Job Responsibilities

Ensure that safety, security and environmental practices in the plant conform to regulatory agency's requirements and company policies and actively provide leadership and promotion of safety as a value.
Lead production planning, manufacturing and shipping operations on a day to day basis, maximizing efficiency levels, in order to meet sales demands, while assuring compliance to quality management system.
Champion the IL6S principles as a member and backup leader of the Leadership Pillar.
Display a strong understanding of RCA/Cause & Effect/5 Whys/Fishbone with the ability to coach others.
Support the Annual Budget setting and demand planning process and deliver the GE/CTS glidepath for the Plant.
Actively support the Plant Daily Management System (DMS) and ensure its implementation and effectiveness.
Analyze operating results and initiate corrective measures to resolve problem areas affecting bakery efficiency to ensure that the bakery performance remains within budgeted limits.
Lead conversion and logistics maintenance activities for equipment maintenance and repair and PM programs and maintain BU maintenance KPIs.
Deliver variable cost productivity loss elimination through the active engagement of colleagues at all levels.
Approve financial operating standards for new products or line changes and ensure existing standards are up to date.
Promote and maintain good employee/employer relations throughout the plant with the objective of maintaining a union free plant for the benefit of both company and employee.
Carry out the Performance appraisals and development plans of Line Managers, Process Engineers, and Plant Materials Manager recommending promotions or transfers to the Cluster Director.
Act for and on behalf of Cluster Director in their absence. Carry out other duties as required.

Internal and External Contacts:
Internally, interfaces with Cluster Director, Cluster Leadership Team, Line Managers, Process Engineers, Materials Manager and hourly and salaried colleagues at East York bakery.

Externally interfaces with Demand Planner, Product & Packaging Development, Procurement, Vendors

Accountability:
As part of the Plant Leadership Team, accountable for the delivery of the site CBN, and the development of the organization in IL6S and High-Performance Work Systems.

Education:
Bachelor's Degree (4 YR)

Functional/Technical Expertise:
10 years of Manufacturing experience in a Leadership position
Solid experience in TPM and Operational Excellence Programs
CPG experience required
General work experience
Functional work experience
Hands on oriented, with solid previous experience leading manufacturing operations, in a leadership role.
Sound Project Management Skills, proven experience successfully leading initiatives (Critical Path Schedule, Risk Management tools, etc).
