The Human Resources Project Management Office, within the Rogers Human Resources organization, is responsible for the effective project management and delivery execution of cross functional HR strategic initiatives.
As a Project Manager in the HR PMO, the incumbent will be accountable for planning, managing and implementing projects in support of Human Resources business plans and goals.
What you will be doing:
Lead multiple medium to large sized initiatives aimed at delivering new product/ service initiatives.
When required, lead programs which are comprised of multiple projects that can span months to years in order to provide meaningful impact to the business.
Lead, manage and control all phases of a project from initiation through to closure with consistent, high quality project delivery.
Actively monitor scope, project plans, risks, actions, issues, decisions, and change requests throughout the project lifecycle.
Develop detailed project schedules, strategies, contingency plans, estimates, and resource plans in conjunction with project team members.
Ensure continuous risk management planning & assessment for every project cycle.
Facilitate the identification and documentation of business requirements with key stakeholders, working jointly with the cross functional HR operational teams & Rogers IT from process improvement initiatives to implementation/upgrade projects that are dependent on technology.
Coordinate the build of business/system response, and detailed design documentation.
Research options to support recommended solutions; prepare RFI's or RFP's as required.
Conduct business process analysis to identify improvement opportunities.
Validate design, prepare for testing (test case/script build), and manage/participate in Quality Assurance Testing, User -Acceptance Testing and Go Live Production Testing.
Effectively manage vendor solutions in terms of scope, timelines and costs and communicate outcomes and risks to program management.
Manage and complete Post Implementation Reviews for all projects, ensuring lessons learned are documented.
Complete operational hand off to the business upon completion of projects.
Build, motivate and effectively manage multidisciplinary project teams, to ensure that project delivery expectations are clearly defined and met.
Drive and track change management work as project deliverables are rolled out, including activities such as training, communication, and documentation.
Assist in the continuous evolution of the HR PMO best practices, project processes and templates.
Complete weekly & monthly project status update reports for Senior Management.
Provide project management mentoring to junior project managers, project coordinators, and business clients.
What you have:
Post-secondary education in Business related discipline, BA/MBA/CHRP an asset.
PMP Certification (or in the process of obtaining within the calendar year).
Six Sigma Certified, an asset.
8-12 years demonstrated project management experience.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining quality and meeting customer expectations.
Have led initiatives with teams of 10 or more and budgets exceeding $500K.
Expert knowledge in waterfall and agile project management methodology.
Demonstrated technical experience in IT, including proficiency with the Systems Development Life Cycle.
Demonstrated and proven leadership skill set within a project management environment.
Demonstrated and proven ability to lead process improvement initiatives.
Proven analytic and problem-solving skills including experience in gathering & analyzing business functional and data requirements.
Excellent decision making and problem solving skills.
Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize wide range of tasks.
Ability to work effectively with little or no supervision, minimal direction and frequent interruptions.
Excellent interpersonal skills - able to effectively work with multiple levels of the organization & interact with internal stakeholders and external vendors.
Excellent written/oral communication & presentation skills.
Detail oriented, self-motivated team player with strong work ethic.
Demonstrated advanced proficiency in Microsoft Project, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, & SharePoint.
