We are currently seeking a strong candidate to represent Source Atlantic in Saint John, NB as a Lab Technician

Responsibilities

The Source Atlantic Health Services Laboratory Technician is responsible for assisting with pre and post analytical tasks and routine technical and laboratory support procedures for the testing of environments and persons within industry settings.

Set up, operate and maintain laboratory equipment
Collecting, receiving and preparing specimens
Conduct and interpret chemical analyses of bodly fluids
Establish procedures for the analysis of specimens and for medical laboratory experiments
Conduct quality control assessment of testing techniques
May supervise and train other medical laboratory technical staff, students and helpers
Managing laboratory procurement requirements as well as hour of operation and record keeping
Performing routine maintenance, decontamination, sterilizing and cleaning
Performing general office duties

Qualifications

A medical laboratory technology diploma or equivalent diploma is required
Certification by the Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science is required
1-3 years of experience in a medical laboratory or quality control testing facility
Self-starter, self-motivated with proactive, and process ownership focus
Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced team environment
Strong interpersonal & problem-solving skills and commitment to providing a high standard of quality work
Ability to make and meet commitments/deadlines
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
