Overview
The Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) Specialist, in our Integrated Health ManagementHS Specialist, will be accountable for supporting our operations team in order to maintain a healthy, safe, and secure workplace and to execute the OHS management system in corporate retail locations, RSCs and offices

Job Description
Support operations to provide and maintain a healthy, safe, and secure workplace and to execute the OHS management system in corporate retail locations, RSCs and offices
Provide input in the development of OHS programs and tools, assist in their implementation and maintenance
Provide support and counsel to managers and supervisors in matters of preventive health and safety and workplace injury management and ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation
Review WCB claims and assist locations with investigation to ensure all required info is provided
Assist operations investigating workplace incidents or illnesses and initiate corrective and preventative actions as required/directed
Conduct basic and causal analysis and make recommendations to the management; ensure proper follow-up
Conduct OHS training sessions for retail locations, RSCs and offices as required
Investigate all potential critical injuries
Support response to governmental agencies investigations/orders
Support appropriate union right to representation in processes as required
Conduct the audits of retail stores and RSCs
Execute provincial WCB regulated programs (COR, PIR, Prime, Safety Group, Mutual Group)
Job Requirements
Post secondary education in health and safety; degree in related or supporting field and CHRP or CRSP preferred
Knowledge of occupational health and safety (OHS) act and associated regulations, auditing protocols
3-5 years experience in OHS in a unionized environment related to retail and/or logistics preferred; experience in a large organization with multiple operations
Travel 60-80%
