Role: The Guest Service Agent is an integral part of our Guest Services department. You understand and anticipate the needs of the discerning guest: and you excel in providing a luxurious guest experience. You know all about Victoria attractions, events and eateries and thrive in a fast paced, multitasking environment.

Responsibilities:

Under the direction and support of the Front Desk Supervisor,the responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:

  • Understanding our guests needs and ensuring their stay is the best possible experience
  • Register and check out guests
  • Monitor room inventory to maximize room revenue
  • Ability to resolve conflicts creatively
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule: including morning, afternoon or night shifts and weekends.
  • Must be detail oriented
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Assist guests by providing recommendations and answering any questions regarding the city and its attractions, as well as making any necessary arrangements for them
  • Ensuring that all information pertinent to the front desk or related areas is communicated to the following shifts
  • Must have a positive and professional demeanor with a desire to deliver outstanding customer service to our guests.
  • Liaise with all other departments to share pertinent information to ensure a positive guest experience
  • Resolve any guest complaints in a timely manner.

Requirements:

  • Other duties as assigned
  • Excellent interpersonal and problem solving abilities
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to carry out instructions accurately with minimal supervision
  • Proven customer service skills
  • Able to stand for extended period of time, lift up to 50lbs, and perform repetitive movements
  • Prior knowledge of Property Management and other computer applications is an asset.

Education and Qualifications:

  • previous experience in hospitality an asset
  • previous customer service experience
