The Senior Cost Accountant performs activities of product costing, product manufacturing analysis, and inventory valuation. This position is responsible for maintaining Cost Accounting systems with an initial focus on the Armor BU, which includes analyzing financial data obtained through evaluation to determine the cost of commercial products. This position is also responsible for performing rate calculations, and for product and cost estimates. Compares actual cost to estimates, and identifies reasons for variances. Reconciles monthly inventory by the categorization of raw material, WIP & finished goods. Key partner in cycle counting process.


Solid understanding of ERP systems and how manufacturing and inventory transactions flow and impact the relevant subsidiary ledgers and general ledger.
Monthly reporting and analysis including inventory reconciliation, inventory roll forward reporting, variance analysis, and inventory obsolescence reserve. Propose necessary journal entries on a monthly basis.
Maintain costing system by reviewing and rolling changes to standard costs in accordance with Revision’s standard cost policy. Support building of annual standard cost models for all manufacturing locations.
Manage inventory including physical to perpetual to general ledger reconciliations, journal entries, audit explanations, and standard costs.
Manage preparation and execution of annual standard cost roll.
Manage processes involving establishment of standard costs of new parts, and review and analysis of standard costs for existing parts.
Analyze the of purchase price variance general ledger account.
Audit cycle count activity, selection of items to be counted, recount decisions, research of discrepancies, and reports on root causes and progress toward making improvements for greater quantity and physical accuracy.
Provide cost support to business units as requested. Also support bids for new business.
Provide product cost information utilized in month end financial closing.
Perform reporting activities throughout the month on margins, absorption, PPV and other metrics to ensure timing and accuracy of standards and gross margins.
Work with Financial Controller to understand actual performance to standards and other metrics in order to drive improvement in operational performance.
Direct development of and reviews cost analysis reports and works with manufacturing site heads to formulate corrective actions.
Provide documentation as needed in support of external audits.
Maintains the integrity and accuracy of product cost data.
May supervise and/or mentor other members of the cost accounting staff.
Other duties as assigned.

We are looking for a senior cost accounts who is detailed oriented and has the passion to win. This person must be action oriented and independent with strong organizational skills.


Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or equivalent combination of education and experience. CPA and/or CMA designation is preferred.
5+ years’ experience in cost accounting in a manufacturing environment required.
Knowledge of ERP systems, preferably Infor SyteLine.
Proficient with use of ERP systems and ability to pull detail data to support account analysis.
Proficient in Microsoft Office programs: Word, PowerPoint and Outlook. Advanced proficiency in Excel.
Excellent written and communication skills.
Excellent time management, project management and planning skills required.
Attention to detail.
Must possess strong interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
Ability to multi-task and work with a high sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment.
Energetic, passionate and positive can-do attitude a must.
