Weston Consulting is an established and progressive land use planning and urban design firm,
which has served public and private sector clients for the past 37 years throughout Toronto, the
Greater Golden Horseshoe, and Ontario. As a result of our continued growth, we require the
addition of a Junior Urban Designer to work within our design department.
About the Position
As a recent graduate, you will possess a sound knowledge of urban design practices and
software. You will have strong analytical and organizational skills and the ability to work with
clients, urban designers, architects and planners. Successful candidates will provide key design
and illustration support on a wide variety of interesting, creative, and challenging development
and administrative projects. You will provide research and best practice precedents for
sustainable practice, development, and planning.
The successful candidate will have the following:
- 0-3 years of related urban design experience;
- University degree or graduate degree related to urban design;
(e.g. architecture, landscape architecture, and/or urban design)
- Ability to produce both conceptual and detailed design packages, with
supporting graphics and analysis.
- Knowledge and experience with MicroStation, AutoCAD, Adobe InDesign,
Illustrator, Photoshop, Sketchup, rendering software/Visualization;
- Ability to communicate effectively, both written and oral, with all levels of staff.
