Job Description Summary:

Staff will work in various positions within the lounge based on weekly scheduling needs. Positions include Kitchen Food Prep, Buffet Stock, Table Busser. Staff will be cross trained and rotate through these position as needed. Lounge associates are responsible for the day to day operations of the lounge including: kitchen food preparation, dishwashing, buffet restocking, counter wiping, floor sweeps & table bussing, miscellaneous cleaning and all matters relating to the preparation and creative execution of food as per established compliance standards.

Majority of shifts are in the afternoon and cater to the busy peak times of the airport.

Staff on closing shifts will be expected to stay late in the event of delays. Must be able to get home late at night (on occasion), when deemed necessary by the operating airline (2 / 3AM)

Duties Include:

  • Bussing Tables
  • Washing Dishes
  • Replenishing Buffet Items/Wipiing Counter
  • Preparing Hot and Cold Foods using oven, soup cookers, rice cookers etc.
  • Sanitizing Food Prep Areas
  • Logging fridge/food/dishwasher temperatures
  • Receiving product shipments and rotating fridges
  • Deep cleaning lounge/kitchen during off peak hours
  • Maintaining clean work environment
  • Engaging with guests in the lounge
  • All other necessary duties assigned by manager

Starting rate is $14.00/hour

Parking is self paid. Employees using U.P. express train are eligible for airport employee discount.

Hiring both part time and full time.


  • Good attendance and daily punctuality

  • To ensure a 5-star lounge experience for all guests
  • To serve with a positive attitude, in an efficient, engaged and courteous manner.
  • To ensure that points of service are organized, clean, well-stocked/replenished as required; all in accordance with established merchandising standards
  • To ensure any/all food & beverage preparation is done according to standard/recipe and in a timely fashion.
  • To maintain/follow Food Safety and H&S standards which meet or exceed those set by the Client, Health Department and Compass Group Canada

Essentials of Customer Service at all times; to be engaged at all times while

  • Maintain an immaculate uniform, clean and pressed, with neat hair, no nail polish, must wear approved NON-SLIP SHOES
  • To promote friendly and professional customer service at all times
  • To ensure that food and beverages are displayed to entice customers with flow, sequencing in place
  • To ensure that you are familiar with the items you are serving.
  • Must have a basic knowledge of ingredients, known allergens and food intolerances
  • To ensure that you keep your work area neat and clean at all times.
  • To respond quickly and efficiently to customer questions.
  • To adopt a ‘clean-as-you-go’ work method
  • To clean assigned areas as required
  • To report issues relating to H&S and QA in a timely manner
  • To report all incidents and accidents within 24 hours
  • To work in accordance with all QA and H&S standards and expectations
  • To pass any customer concerns on to your supervisor in a timely fashion.
  • Any other duties assigned daily by manager/supervisor.


- Graduate of a grade 12 or equivalent

- Excellent customer services skills,

- Able to multi-task, perform time management

- MUST have smart serve certificate or acquire within 30 days of start date.

- First Aid and Food Safety/Food Handlers Certificate an asset

- Available to work days/evenings/weekends as needed

- Full or Partial bilingual speaking an asset (French, Korean, Dutch are beneficial but not necessary)
