Job Description

The OSR/Account Manager will prospect new business while providing excellent customer service and retention skills to maintain an existing book of business. Utilizing a consultative selling approach the OSR/Account Manager matches prospect’s needs to Waste Connections services and aims to secure long-term partnerships. The incumbent will develop and maintain relationships with client accounts focusing on customer satisfaction, quality of revenue and selling within a customer base. The ideal candidate will have experience selling waste disposal services or related industry.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Identify, target and sell waste disposal and collection services to commercial and industrial accounts
Build pipeline through development of prospective accounts and key contacts through cold calling, prospecting, and networking
Develop and maintain business relationships with customers through periodic personal follow up
Provide consultative services to both new and existing customers in the areas of special waste disposal services
Work with the District Manager in formulating, developing and implementing market strategies, business goals, and sales targets

Post-Secondary education a plus
Minimum of 3-4 years direct sales or business development experience with proven results
Experience with professional presentations and Excellent written, verbal and listening skills
Completion of sales courses in Strategic Selling and Sales Negotiation is an asset
Knowledge of Microsoft Office (word, excel, etc.)
Knowledge of Salesforce or comparable CRM tools is a plus.
High comfort level with technology as most work is completed digitally in the field (including contracts)
Good numeracy skills to estimate pricing and calculate margins.
The successful candidate will be coachable, motivated, organized, and works well independently
This position requires frequent driving using their own vehicle

Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Infrequent light physical effort required.
Most work is performed in a field environment. (e.g. making sales calls or onsite visits at customers).
Frequent use of the telephone and computers in performing job duties.
May require walking periodically throughout the workday.
Frequent driving is required.
