Job Description: Housekeeping Attendant

Location: Port Mellon, BC

Duration: Two-to-three-week on-site contracts (potential to extend*) – meals and accommodation provided

Dates: July 2-17, 2021

*Opportunities to continue work may be available at this location or other sites upon completing the contract

Job Duties and Responsibilities

General

  • Provides first-class customer service
  • Working in conjunction with the Housekeeping Supervisor and Camp Manager to ensure all areas have been cleaned daily
  • Assisting with monitoring inventory levels and advise Housekeeping Supervisor when a product is required
  • Attending safety meetings and advising any injuries, issues, or hazards
  • Monitoring laundry; washed, dried, and folded

Living Quarters

  • Make beds, remove the garbage, and dust shelving
  • Rooms get swept every day and mopped every day due to weather changes
  • Some trailers have carpets that need to be vacuum daily
  • Stairs, dry room, hallway, and entrances should be swept or vacuumed twice a day
  • Complete linen change for tenants who are in camp for more than 7 days or if linen needs to be changed if needed before the 7 days
  • Check the housekeeping sheet to see who is leaving and which rooms need to be fully changed over and sanitized

Bathroom

  • Ensure bathrooms are cleaned and sanitized entirely each day, floors, toilets, shower stalls, sinks, mirrors and faucets
  • Replenish toilet paper, paper towel, hand soap
  • Remove garbage
  • Return in the late evening and do a general clean up for the morning, wipe countertops and remove garbage only if we have night shift
  • Bathroom floors are to be swept and mopped every day
  • Check shower curtains to see if they need to be changed if it is busy every day at a shut down if not every 3 days
  • Keep the laundry room tidy for other tenants; sweep daily and mop every other day
  • Keep linen storage clean and organized
  • Keep your cart stocked up and garbage out
  • Making sure there are enough small water bottles in bathrooms and showers in case of a boil water advisory

Kitchen Duty Relief only if there is not any GH/Dishwasher

  • Dust, sweep, mop
  • Clean and sanitize washroom
  • Wipe down chairs and conference table
  • Remove garbage
  • Help dishes if needed

Common Area

  • Stock up juices and snacks daily in cooler etc.
  • Clean bathroom and kitchen sink
  • Organize the game rooms
  • Take garbage and recycling out
  • During shut down sweep and wash floor every 2 days if needed
  • Wipe exercise room and free weights
  • Clean TV room

Garbage and Recycling

  • Outside garbage, recycling cans and empty ashtrays daily morning and evening
  • Check both Gazebos in the back of Trailer 1 and walk around the camp for picking up garbage, recycling, and empty ashtrays

Additional

  • Different tasks may arise at the last minute, be available to complete
  • Assist other staff and departments with all tasks they require
  • Janitorial responsibilities are shared amongst the housekeeping team
  • Assisting with camp shutdown and relocation
  • Ask Camp Manager or Clerk relief if other staff in housekeeping needs help cleaning room
  • Before starting other chores.
  • Housekeeping staff needs to be ready to work 10 to 12 hrs a day
  • it is physical work needs to be able to handle cleaning a lot of rooms and other tasks daily
  • if there is night shift need to be able to do split shift for working later

Contract length: 2 weeks
