In the Video Production Manager role, you are a detail-oriented leader who is passionate about the optimization of video production resources and projects. Under the leadership and direction of the Production Director, you will support the Production team, Talent and Broadcast crew. You will establish, maintain and enhance processes for better workflow with Producers / MAM / Programming. You will work closely Creative Services Manager and Post-Production Manager to ensure process implemented are upheld, and Brand briefs have been vetted with the department leads in order to balance priorities vs studio availability. You will build and develop relationships with internal partners and business leaders alongside brand leaders and managers to establish and improve processes and communication.
Oversee Freelance Shooters, Talent, Production Crew, which includes creating contracts with HR, as well as negotiate rates as per the production plans (alongside Producers)
Coordinate hours tracking through WorkFront for all staff, and work with Accounts to get hours tracked for Marketing projects
Build and implement a cost monitor system with the Account Managers for all Marketing Projects
Oversee all travel and broadcast needs for Producers, Production Crew, Analysts etc.
Lead all aspects of all Broadcast Talent appearance requests and negotiations under the Sr. Director of Marketing
Track all invoices through a cost monitor system for each Network show, as well as working with the Account Manager to track all Marketing asks
Build production budget quotes and manage expectations with the account managers for all Global Partnerships, MLSE Foundation, outside client needs
Create monthly meetings with Supervising Producer and Producers to track where their specific projects are trending and help monitor their estimate to complete
Act as the first point of contact on WorkFront to manage all video requests and assign account manager
Assign Producer to Workfront project and coordinate the project through Production
Implement and track Business Affairs & Production Standards (releases, contracts etc.) and keep Producers accountable
Oversee all purchases made for production, as well as expenses being coded and tracked to the accurate project
Implement clear guidelines on production expenses for Producers and Freelancers
Point of contact for DOME Productions on Raptors, Marlies, and 905 Broadcast in regard to production, budget and staffing
Minimum 3-5 years in a leadership role working on medium to large scale projects that involve creative teams in Video, brand, marketing and/or creative agency environment.
Experience working in Broadcast is ideal.
Shown client and creative management experience in marketing and/or a creative environment.
Ability to communicate and present effectively.
Excellent listening and negotiation skills
Teamwork: cross and inter-departmental relationships ie. with creative leaders (video/brand/marketing) on campaign planning and execution.
Outstanding organization skills and consistency meeting deadlines.
Budget tracking and reconciliation: lead project estimates, budget spends, internal resourcing and project management.
Understanding of Adobe editing and design software and systems, and WorkFront (or other project management tool) is an asset.
Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as the need arises.
Ability to assess the scope of work and troubleshoot quickly, and take hands-on action as needed.
