Department Overview

The Financial Crime and Fraud Management Group (FC&FMG) is a department in the Corporate Office. Operating on a North American basis, the FC&FMG together with business partners establishes and maintains a robust anti-fraud posture across the bank.

Job Description

Reporting to the Manager, Cyber-Fraud Data & Insights, the Cyber-Fraud Analyst will function as a multi-disciplinary analyst in countering fraud, who will employ various skills including but not limited to link analysis, cyber-enabled fraud trending, open-source intelligence collection and other expertise necessary to flag fraud and financial crime threats. Using threat detection, analysis and correlation capabilities and tools, the successful candidate will support the development of a comprehensive picture of the potential threats and risks at the Bank, and will assist in practices and solutions to prevent, detect and mitigate against these threats and events. This role works closely with the Data Analyst, Cyber-Fraud.

Key components of the role include:
Analysis of key threat indicators associated with cyber-crime;
Accurate logging of cyber-enabled fraud events within established process;
Recording of pertinent information during incident response scenarios;
Review of historical fraud events to identify opportunities for new or modified controls;
Participation in post-incident analysis and discussions;
Monitoring of open-source, industry, and commercial sources for relevant threat intelligence related to cyber-enabled fraud and other financial crimes;
Prepare draft publications intended to raise awareness of industry events and trends that may have current or future significance to TD Bank;
Conduct meaningful analysis to draw conclusions, make recommendations, assess the effectiveness of programs, policies and practices through data analysis
Produce and maintain detailed reports/dashboards to enhance existing cyber-fraud reporting and identify trends
Responsibility for department reporting and preparation of draft presentation material;
Effective interaction with internal partners including the: Computer Security Incident Response Team (CSIRT), Digital Channels Fraud Prevention, Digital Channels Incident Management teams(DCIM), Channels Technology Solutions (CTS), and others

Job Requirements

Possesses creativity and experience in supporting the execution of value-driven strategies and programs;
Motivated to constantly strive to find innovative ways in which to enhance FC&FMG's Cyber-Fraud Team;
Creative, out-of-the-box thinker, with conceptual and problem-solving skills;
Strong proficiency in MS Excel, Tableau, PowerPoint
Ability to develop and maintain internal and external relationships, including demonstrated ability in fraud or technology incident management;
Comfortable in working with the leaders and business partners at all levels, and collaborates with leaders in all corporate areas;
Ability to review and analyze large amounts of data and information and draw appropriate conclusions;
Exercises excellent judgment and has personal integrity when handling sensitive/confidential information.
Knowledge of programming languages such as SQL, SAS, R, Python, and others considered an asset
Knowledge of general banking operations;
Education and Accreditation
Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program in Business / Mathematics / Computer Science or other quantitative discipline.
