Queen Margaret's School is looking for a qualified candidate to support the Boys' Residence Program four mornings a week. This position is responsible for waking students and supporting their morning preparations for School.

This position has a set schedule on days when school is in session:

Mondays to Thursdays, 6:15 to 8:15 am.

Ensure the health, safety and welfare of students
In collaboration with the School Nurse, attend to any health issues or student concerns throughout the morning
Maintain knowledge of whereabouts of students under care
Support the daily wake-up routine and care of all students to meet the aims of the boarding program curriculum
Support early morning departures for travelling students
Ability to manage and resolve student conflict
Escalate discipline issues to Boys' Dorm Parent as needed
Communicate with the School Secretaries regarding late or absent students.

Familiarity with adolescent development and needs
Experience working with large groups of students
A cheerful disposition and a passion to engage students in their development and growth
Proven ability to identify emergent situations and take decisive action
Ability to maintain composure in stressful situations
Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work collaboratively with others to achieve common goals and positive results
Adaptability to changing situations
Critical thinking/problem-solving skills (independent and team-based)
Understanding of appropriate boundaries
Computer literacy, with experience using Office 365 software
Preference will be given to candidates who also have the following skills and qualifications:

Experience working with adolescent boys
Proficiency in a second language
Level 1 First Aid training or better
Class 4 Driver's License and clean driver's abstract is an asset
Diploma in Education, Child & Youth Care, Leadership, or other combination of certification and experience would be an asset
Working Conditions

Vacation time may only be scheduled during School Breaks (Spring Break & Christmas)
Light housekeeping duties are required
Some heavy lifting (up to 45 lbs) may be required
