The main purpose of this position is to develop creative, innovative and effective digital solutions for desktop and mobile websites and online courses. This position reports to the Marketing Automation Manager. You are well versed with HTML, CSS, JavaScript and the Adobe creative suite and eager to learn more. Designing and developing highly dynamic and responsive websites is your spice of life.

As our Front End Developer, you will:

Develop responsive websites using HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript that are accessible and cross-browser compatible

  • Use Photoshop, Illustrator and Premier Pro to rework existing assets to fit in the program
  • Ability to design and bring to life visually appealing page layouts in custom online training solutions and activities
  • Enhance and modify pages as necessary to ensure coding best practices, best performance, and an outstanding user-experience
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate visual designs into functional interfaces
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot problems with existing courses and web pages.
  • Engage in QA related activities
  • Utilize HTML, JavaScript and CSS to extend functionality of authoring tools like Articulate360 and Adobe Captivate
  • Bring ideas forward and make recommendations – both verbally in discussions and through written documentation including user flows and solution
  • Collaborate in a friendly and respectful manner with different teams to execute projects flawlessly
  • Have excellent time management skills
  • Adhere to and help expand our coding best practices and the internal knowledge base

As our Front End Developer, you have:

  • 3+ years of in-depth knowledge of JavaScript, JSON and jQuery
  • 5+ years of in-depth knowledge of with HTML5, CSS3, XML, W3C standards compliance
  • 5+ years of experience developing responsive websites using Bootstrap
  • 3+ years of experience with version control systems in a collaborative development environment
  • Strong understanding of web standards, best practices, accessibility and performance practices
  • Experience in resolving cross-browser compatibility issues
  • Significant experience developing responsive websites, web applications (mobile, tablet, UI/UX)
  • Experience with a version control system (TFS, SVN)
  • Experience with using AJAX, JSON, and XML.
  • Working knowledge of building and optimizing Object Orientated web applications
  • Working knowledge of browser developer tools
  • Solid knowledge of graphic design principles, both for print and web production
  • Basic to intermediate Photoshop, Illustrator and Premier Pro knowledge to export assets and execute small adjustments on composites provided by the creative team
  • A strong desire to continue learning and improving your skills

Nice to have:

  • Working knowledge of SCORM, xAPI and AICC eLearning standards; including integration with LMS
  • Understanding of WCAG 2.0 AA accessibility principles an asset
  • Some experience with Visual Studio and .Net development (WebForms and MVC)
  • Version control systems such as GIT, SVN or TFS
  • Ability to code, set up and deploy emails
