Janitorial Site Supervisor
Job Description Summary
The Janitorial Supervisor is responsible for the planning, provisioning and oversight of the day-to-day operations of cleaning services and staff for an active, security sensitive workspace. The Janitorial Supervisor performs this responsibility through the effective hiring, orientation, oversight, inspection, provisioning and planning activities required to maintain high levels of safety and cleanliness of assigned areas all the while accomplishing this with an active and present customer workforce. The Janitorial Supervisor implements account, operational, safety and/or corporate initiatives in the facilities as well as being responsive to work orders created by tenants on a day-to-day basis.
Responsible for the scheduling and deployment of staff, providing employee technical and non-technical training, coaching and development, recruitment, orientation, performance and attendance management, discipline, quality audits, job shadowing and workload assessment /assignment
Collects, compiles and submit employee rate, time and attendance data for time management, vacations, schedules and payroll. Ensures that employees are provided with the ability to punch their own time as quickly as possible.
Works with staff to ensure the daily needs are met for special events/projects, etc.
Monitors the execution the C&W Services Safety program and ensures that employees are trained in and monitored for the use of safe work practices, use of personal protective equipment, and safe behaviour and the Joint Health and Safety committee actions.
Conducts regular safety, quality and efficiency inspections using the tools provided such as Uwalks and Cleantelligent.
Monitors materials inventory, equipment purchase and distribution, labour expenses and distribution and any other expense incurred by the account
Coordinates and controls special project work, ensures that any subcontractors (if any) hired by the Company meet the Company’s safety standards
Participates in ongoing management/technical skill development training programs of direct reports
Conducts orientation of employees, develops employees’ skills/abilities through in-services and provides ongoing performance feedback and maintains positive employee relations
Maintains effective and harmonious ongoing customer relations and employee relations.
Post-Secondary degree preferred; strong language proficiency in English, both written and verbal.
Two - Three years of supervisory experience.
Skills & Knowledge
Current knowledge of best practices of professional cleaning practices, methods and equipment
Experience and familiarity with WHMIS, Provincial Safety statutes and basic employment obligations
Comfortable with the use of automated business applications (such as tablet-based visual inspections software) and Microsoft Office applications (Office 365). Required to work a building management work order computer system.
Client relationship skills
Strong organizational and planning skills with prioritizing and multi-tasking abilities to meet time sensitive deadlines

Demonstrate a high level of professionalism and excellent interpersonal skills
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Flexibility to work outside of core hours when business needs dictate.
Physical Working Conditions
Walking consistently through an 8 -10 hour shift inspecting building premises for quality of work
Occasional lifting of approximately 22-25 kg (supplies, equipment)
Occasional push/pull of up to 20 kg (janitorial carts/scrubbers)
Occasional need to bend, twist, squat, reach over the shoulders and below the knees to perform cleaning tasks.
