Caroline Cellars Wineryis a family owned and operated winery, banquet hall and restaurant in Niagara on the Lake. Although we are a relatively small business, we are a busy place! We pride ourselves in our customer experience and are looking for individuals who are passionate about customer service. We have a dynamic, passionate staff and are looking to add some more dedicated members to our team. We are currently seeking experienced Prep Cook/Line Cooks to work for a fast-paced lunch bistro as well as banquet service. Candidates must be able to work well within our team but also possess independent and critical thinking skills.This is a full-time, seasonal position (can be part-time during the off-season - January through March) consisting of mostly daytime shifts, but some evening shifts.

About the Role:

  • Set up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies
  • Prepare food for service (e.g. chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces)
  • Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
  • Answer, report and follow executive or sous chef’s instructions
  • Clean up station and take care of leftover food
  • Stock inventory appropriately
  • Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion
  • Comply with sanitation regulations and safety standards
  • Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers

What you Bring:

  • Proven cooking experience, including experience as a line chef, restaurant cook or prep cook
  • Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures
  • Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks
  • Familiar with industry’s best practices
  • Culinary school diploma or equivalent experience
  • Safe Food Handling certificate (or willingness to obtain)

Wage will be fully based on experience.

This job is located in Niagara-on-the-Lake - reliable transportation is a must.
