Job Opportunity:

Toyota Canada Inc. currently has an exciting opportunity for an individual who has excellent problem solving/ investigative skills. This is a full-time opportunity and will report to the Manager of Data Analytics. The selected candidate will focus on establishing and ensuring adherence to an enterprise data governance framework for data policies, standards and practices to achieve the required level of consistency, quality and protection to meet overall business needs. This individual will serve as a point of escalation for governance, data quality and protection issues and will work closely with the Business and Functional area leadership to improve the quality and value of core data assets

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Lead efforts to establish enterprise wide data governance framework, with a focus on improvement of data quality and the protection of sensitive data through modifications to organization behaviour policies and standards, principles, governance metrics, processes, related tools and data architecture
  • Establish and maintain an Enterprise Data Governance roadmap including strategic priorities for development of information-based capabilities
  • Define roles and responsibilities related to data governance and ensure clear accountability for stewardship of the company’s principal information assets
  • Understands end-to-end master data processes and flows and using that knowledge to design and implement master data management solutions.
  • Develop and implement data quality standards, data protection standards and adoption requirements across the enterprise
  • Provides business process, system support and data quality governance for data coordination and integration to ensure efficient processes and consistent data flows to business and stakeholders.
  • Ensures data integrity and compliance by coordinating data cleansing, data audit and/or data validation activities.
  • Performs root-cause analysis on data related system problems and recommends or executes corrective action.
  • Collaborates with technical support teams in the creation and implementation of new or revised design that affects master data.
  • Conducts testing and system validation to troubleshoot issues related to data management and system.
  • Identifies and implements process improvements in relation to data processes. Identifies, reviews and evaluates data management metrics.
  • Recommends ways to strengthen data integrity, quality and availability across the enterprise.
  • Provides training and support on Data Governance and Data Quality process to committee members
  • Serve as a liaison between Business and Functional areas and technology to ensure that data related business requirements for protecting sensitive data are clearly defined, communicated and well understood and considered as part of operational prioritization and planning
  • Develop & maintain inventory of the enterprise information maps, including authoritative systems and owners
  • Define indicators of performance and quality metrics and ensure compliance with data related policies, standards, roles and responsibilities, and adoption requirements
  • Apply knowledge of industry trends, standards and developments to improve delivery
  • Provide guidance and consulting on data integration ensuring data is high quality

What You Bring:

  • University Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience in Information Management
  • 6 years’ experience with 3 years of Information Management work experience with a broad exposure to Data Governance, Master Data Management, Metadata Management, Data Quality and Business Intelligence
  • Experience in Cloud: SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS implementations
  • Excellent investigative and problem-solving skills
  • Fluent in database concepts
  • Familiar with data integration concepts (ETL, SOA)
  • Must be knowledgeable in software development lifecycles/methodologies
  • Has strong presentation and collaboration skills
  • Ability to be self-sufficient and can work within all level of leadership
  • Strong communication skills (oral and written)
  • Preference will be provided to candidates with SAP/Hana experience.
