RED Academy is a technology school created for the designers, creators, developers and digital marketers of tomorrow. Our purpose is to provide highly engaging, immersive learning programs for our students, that will provide them with the relevant technical skills and knowledge to succeed in today’s rapidly evolving workplace.

The University of Alberta, as represented by the Faculty of Extension, is collaborating with RED Academy to deliver RED Academy’s digital skills training programs. This collaboration will deliver industry-recognized digital skills training in areas of high labour market demand in Edmonton.

What You'll Help Us Achieve

As we are continuing to grow our global network of schools while working on our mission to REDefine Education, we are looking to onboard an outstanding UX Design Instructor to help us deliver an extraordinary student experience through an active learning approach.

The UX Design Instructor is a role requiring natural ease and passion for coaching, mentoring and building rapport, as well as a strong interest in creating a collaborative and inclusive environment while inspiring others to want to reach their full potential as people and as professionals.

Who You Are

You have 3+ years of experience in UX/UI Design
You are a natural coach, have a passion for working with people and helping them reach their goals
You share our passion for education, design, technology and impact, and are hungry to share your knowledge with others
You are the person that your colleagues naturally gravitate to when they are looking for guidance
You are proactive and resourceful
You are able to work independently and autonomously. You must be confident making strategic decisions in terms of balancing resources, managing students and working collaboratively with global teams.
You have fluency in some or all of the following topics: user experience design, user interface design, prototyping, ideation, creative thinking, logo design, visual communication, app & responsive web design. You have experience with industry design tools like Sketch, Creative Suite and Prototyping tools such as InVision, Axure, Principle, Framer.js as well as some understanding of HTML/CSS

Educational experience is a bonus, but all of our instructional team receive in-depth training in the latest instructional and educational approaches, and so this is much less important than your attitude and portfolio. Our classes are taught in small teams with a low ratio of students per instructor. The programs are designed to be relevant to the tech world of today with personalized, applied learning content, working on projects from our network of partners.

What you'll own

You will facilitate participatory learning experiences and provide students the feedback and support they need on their journeys to become designers at RED.
You will work closely with other members of the instructional and operations team to deliver and evolve our curriculum while ensuring we provide a high-quality, positive learning experience for our students.
You will assist with student admissions processes where relevant, and support the ongoing management of student records, assessments, evaluations, certification processes, and policies.
You will help manage and acquire Community Partner, who are local business who will partner up with RED in supporting projects for our students
