Job Purpose

The Senior Manager, Product Analytics, will be responsible for working closely with key groups across Asset Management including Sales & Marketing, Product Management, Product Development and the Systemized Solutions Team (client facing) to provide ongoing support through timely and innovative analytical solutions; this includes quantitative research and insightful analysis on all proprietary products and competitor products.

The incumbent will be a key member of the Product Analytics & Competitive Intelligence team that supports a high demand for accurate and timely business insights and reporting across Asset Management. This position will require a combination of business focus, strong analytical and problem solving skills and deep understanding of the investment management industry to develop insights and reporting to support business line strategies.

Key Accountabilitites

Conduct in-depth analytical research on Dynamic’s funds and competitor funds; provide reliable investment related information and sales ideas supported by the research;
Provide product guidance to the sales team by utilizing portfolio construction principles and modern portfolio theory to support recommendations;
Prepare timely and accurate monthly and quarterly reports for internal and external parties; including comprehensive requests from the Systemized Solutions Team (SST)
Champions the Morningstar Direct Report Portal project to optimize the volume of ad-hoc reporting requests
Respond to ad-hoc research requests from Sales, 1832 Asset Management Portfolio Managers, Product Development, Product Management, Marketing, Competitive Intelligence and other internal parties;
Research and analyze quantitative data to support product marketing initiatives and assess competitive landscape;
Provide ad-hoc and/or on-going industry information for Global Asset Management Executive team
Manage communications with third-party data service providers;
Stay current on industry developments and their impact on product positioning and performance.
Functional Competencies

Strong experience with research systems such as Morningstar Direct, Bloomberg, IFIC, and SimFund
Strong understanding of the mutual fund/investment manager sales process and industry’s competitive landscape, as well as the different investment products available
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite with emphasis on MS Excel; confident with intermediate functions, modelling and dashboard creation.
Experience with building effective relationships with sales teams and leaders
Knowledge of the Bank's products and services and risk appetite
Excellent organizational and analytical skills; detail-oriented and forward thinking
Excellent written and verbal communication skills to address complex, multi-faceted issues and initiatives
Minimum 5-7 years of experience in the mutual fund industry
University degree in Commerce, Economics, Finance or Statistics
CFA an asset
