Catering / Head Chef / General Manager

We are seeking a Catering head chef / General Manager to join our team! You will be responsible for providing customers with a memorable dining experience.

Our Meal Prep is looking for an experienced, forward-thinking Chef/Manager who is passionate about culinary arts. The ideal candidate for this position will be a natural leader who always has a finger on the pulse of current culinary trends. The Chef will be responsible for assigning work in the kitchen, preparing meals for our clients, interviewing and training staff, kitchen inventory management and partnering with the Management and Ownership to come up with delectable new dishes to add to our growing menu.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate all culinary activities
  • Oversee guest services and resolve issues
  • Ensure a high quality of ingredients and food preparation
  • Train and manage kitchen personnel
  • Create and adjust staff schedules to meet restaurant needs
  • Adhere to all safety and sanitation regulations
  • Produce Menus
  • Talk to Suppliers
  • Manage relationships with distributors and resolve issues with vendors promptly
  • Follow the budget established by the restaurant manager
  • Ensure safety and sanitation practices in the kitchen
  • Manage kitchen staff and delegate tasks related to meal prep, cooking and delivering food to diners in a timely fashion
  • Maintain the schedule for kitchen staff
  • Monitor food and labor costs
  • Keep up with industry trends and create new recipes in collaboration with the Management and Ownership

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in food service or other related fields
  • Strong leadership qualities
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent written and communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Associate Degree in Culinary Arts required (Bachelor’s preferred)
  • 5+ years’ experience as a Chef in a full-service restaurant
  • 2+ years’ experience in a supervisory role
  • Excellent communication and organization skills
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Dedicated to food quality and control
  • Strong knowledge of proper food handling and sanitation standards

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Salary: $30,000.00 to $45,000.00 /year

Experience:

  • supervisory role: 2 years (Preferred)
  • Kitchen: 2 years (Preferred)

Education:

  • AEC / DEP or Skilled Trade Certificate (Preferred)
