Assisting in the entire recruitment process for various corporate and retail positions. This includes opening requisitions, screening resumes and candidates using our applicant tracking system, conducting reference checks, entering new hire information, performing candidate turndowns and assisting with offers of employment.
Participate in interviews over the term in order to develop an understanding of the recruitment and selection process.
Assist with leveraging sourcing avenues for posting and promoting active requisitions
Assist with managing reports and coordinating communication with Talent acquisition team and hiring managers
Assist with providing expertise and support to store management on any issues pertaining to the Applicant tracking system
Participate in any Talent Acquisition projects as assigned
Attend job fairs/events to promote awareness regarding Staples Corporate & Retail Opportunities
Other recruitment administrative duties as required
Learning and Development
Maintain and distribute Resource Library (collection of business books, articles etc.) materials for Canada.
Assist various training initiatives & projects that arise throughout the term using various design tools.
Participate in various company initiatives as part of the Learning Team (i.e. Demo Days).
Attend meetings, develop materials and follow up on client feedback on behalf of the learning team
Analyze learning data to determine strategic direction and recommendations.
Prepare materials and advertisement as needed for upcoming training sessions.
Assist with other duties as assigned.
Corporate Human Resources and Business Services
Partner with Corporate HR & L&OD teams to co-ordinate a number of corporate programs i.e. maternity leaves, tuition reimbursement, exit interviews, engagement survey analysis, and performance appraisal process. Meet with associates and track data. Offer suggestions for improvements on programs.
Assist with coordination and administration of corporate HR functions as required by the Corporate HR Consultant and the HR Manager of Business Services and HR Projects i.e. letters, organizational charts etc.
Job Shadow HR Consultant in a number of exit interviews, job evaluation meetings, employee relations meetings and corporate learning and development offerings etc.
Weekly co-facilitation of new hire orientation and assist HR Consultant with the preparation for session.
Review corporate job descriptions and ensure they are up to date and available for all roles.
On a quarterly basis, assist HR Consultant with the preparation for our Newcomers Breakfast program (our second phase of our orientation for new hires).
Coordinate and be responsible for Special Projects i.e. Take Your Kids to Work Day, Co-op Fairs, etc.
Assist with various Health & Safety (H&S) responsibilities, including maintenance of the H&S Board, minute taking for National and Home Office H&S committees, updating information, etc. Assist with other duties as assigned.
Strong skills in Microsoft Office and Excel (must be able to draft letters & correspondence and run Excel reports and sort, filter and format data for printing)
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work autonomously and think out of the box.
Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
Relationship management skills and ability to keep information confidential
Ability to prioritize and multitask.
