The Manager, Governance, Policy & Analytics Support contributes to the overall success of the Corporate Security Strategic Services team by ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

Accountabilities

Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
Governance and policy development support, including but not limited to the following:
Developing and maintaining Corporate Security policies, guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures, ensuring alignment within the Bank’s structure (corporate standards, International Banking), and compliance with the regulatory environment (local Physical Security Regulations and Bank Crime Prevention & Investigation Office ‘BCPIO’ (management of action plans)).
Conducting ongoing gap analysis of policies and procedures, and supporting the remediation of any identified gaps.

Operational Control, Risk and Compliance, including:
Managing country level quality assurance reviews, and tracking audit issues/associated follow up as well as internal audits across units to ensure consistent & standardized processes are in place.
Identifying control breakdowns and developing control remediation actions.
Reviewing operational files to assess the quality of investigations and flagging any issues to Senior Management accordingly.
Developing and maintaining process flow mapping and identifying potential risks and controls
Performance Measurement and Data Analytics
Standard performance Tracking – support or lead the creation of reports on CS performance metrics (e.g. KRI reports, monthly dashboards, IS&C quarterly report, etc)
Navigating CS case management system to identify meaningful insights and trends
Ad hoc Reporting – By request, creation of ad hoc reports on CS statistics (e.g. CSRA volume review, guard management analysis, regional fraudulent activities)

Knowledge Management, Change Management and Communications:
Managing the collection and communication of Corporate Security global best practices and assisting the Senior Manager in supporting the deployment of Corporate Security guiding principles and global best practices.
Continually building knowledge and acumen in all aspects of the organization, the business, processes and communications and change management methodologies, best practices.
Updating and maintaining maintain the Corporate Security webpage on Scotiabank Live.
Assisting in the development of content, presentations and messaging for events such as: Town Halls, Lunch & Learns, and Conferences.
Assisting in the management of the Corporate Security Strategic Communications Inbox.
Manage and coordinate the timely and impactful distribution of reports created by all Corporate Security functional teams, including KPI management, risk reporting and departmental dashboards.
Project Management
Based on departmental objectives, define the scope of assignment projects in collaboration with senior management, and ensure that associated deliverables are completed within prescribed timeframes.
Participate in cross-functional projects and support other strategic priorities, as assigned.
Policy Agenda Development and Management
Manage review process with internal stakeholders
Ensure adherence to agenda deadlines
Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct.

Experience

Bachelor degree in a related field
Five to 10 years of Banking/Security experience; exposure to the areas of Governance & Policy, Project Management and Communications would be beneficial
Experience with working large data sets to derive meaningful metrics
Knowledge in working with databases (i.e. MS Access, Excel)
Knowledge in SQL and/or other data manipulation query language
Experience with Tableau or Microsoft Power BI
Fluency in French and/or Spanish would be an asset
Certificate in Project Management would be an asset
Strong oral and written communication skills
Practical, analytical, focused on results and efficiency and able to work independently
Expert knowledge of Corporate Security processes and methodologies
Expert knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Visio and Bank domestic and international systems (such as PPM)
