EPCOR Water Canada is currently seeking a Senior Manager, Maintenance to provide leadership and ensure the optimal performance of the Gold Bar Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) Maintenance team.

Reporting to the Director, Gold Bar WWTP, the Senior Manager, Maintenance will be accountable for the performance of Maintenance facilities at Clover Bar. The key accountabilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Providing input to the Gold Bar WWTP plans and directions while ensuring an appropriate understanding of the overall EPCOR and Gold Bar WWTP strategy.
Ensuring collaborative relationships between Maintenance and other Senior Manager positions at the Gold Bar WWTP and across EPCOR.
Developing and implementing business plans (1-2 year timeframe), ensuring business plans and deliverables of directly reporting positions are aligned and integrated, and ensuring that performance expectations and deliverables are understood by all Maintenance team members.
Leading and managing a high performing team of 60 staff including managers, trade, non-trade and administrative staff.
Strategically identifying and planning for the necessary operational budget requirements. Assessing competition and market opportunities and threats; recommending appropriate plans to improve the operational effectiveness of the maintenance function and implement decided actions.
Analyzing and identifying issues impacting operational performance and establishing initiatives for continuous improvement to ensure maintenance standards are exceeded and proper, reliable maintenance is performed; ensuring the provision of industry leading work practices.
Providing expert operational advice to assist the Director, Gold Bar WWTP and the Water Services leadership team in evaluating business decisions and changes to strategic positioning.
Ensuring the proper maintenance is performed at the right time and safety is an integral part of the culture. Developing a thorough understanding of Water Services maintenance functions.
Providing added value in supporting and enabling operational success across all Water Services operations.
Ensuring a high level of employee engagement and employee development; developing succession plans. Developing and nurturing a high performance, high discipline, safe, accountable, focused, innovative and achievement oriented organization that is easy to do business with.
The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:
Completion of post-secondary education from a recognized educational institute such as:
Trades certification (Red Seal if acquired outside of Alberta)
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or closely related field
A combination of education and experience may be considered
In a leadership or supervisory role. Supervising or managing in a unionized environment is a valuable asset.
5+ year’s relevant maintenance experience.
Advanced level of knowledge and understanding in Maintenance, Plant Operations, Engineering / Project Management and Control Systems would be an asset.
A commitment to and proven track record of developing and sustaining a “zero incident” safety culture.
Intermediate computer skills, with programs such as; Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), SharePoint, Oracle IVARA.
