WSP is currently seeking to fill the position of senior mechanical engineer in the Industrial department at our Quebec offices. Reporting to the Assistant Director, Industrial, Quebec - Sept-Îles, the engineer will bring technical expertise to our various multidisciplinary projects, share and communicate knowledge and ensure the growth of other members in the department.
Use guidelines to participate in the development of plans, estimates and details within the scope of projects in mechanical engineering and piping in the industrial, oil and gas sectors;
Manage all phases of the technical implementation of the project: preliminary phase, planning phase and final integration phase of the deliverables to the client;
Analyze project needs, oversee the budget and implementation schedules, ensure communication with the client and high-quality deliverables;
Use guidelines to participate in the development of mechanical and piping plans, estimates and details within the scope of industrial projects;
Carry out design calculations and ensure that plans respect guidelines, codes and other regulations;
Establish and maintain contact with clients, present technical information, concepts and study results, when needed and according to skills;
Produce quantity reports and participate in budget estimates;
Participate in verifying and drafting tender and estimate files and other technical documents;
Work alongside technicians and designers assigned to the project;
Other tasks assigned/required.
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or any other training deemed equivalent;
15 years of relevant experience managing mechanical and piping projects and design;
Licensed by the Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec;
Experience in consulting engineering is considered a plus;
Takes initiative, detail-oriented;
Able to work as part of a team;
Excellent spoken and written communication skills;
Excellent command of the French language and functional command of the English language. Required for studies.
