Reporting to the Manager, Fibre Distribution and Logistics, you will be challenged to handle diverse tasks in the fibre department. This is not an office job. If you’re looking to build on your technical expertise and hone your skills to effectively deliver fibre to meet the needs of the mill, this is for you. Plus, it is an incredible opportunity to live and work in one of the most beautiful areas of the country.
More specifically, this position is accountable for:
Management of the combustible dust program
Management of four landfills
Working with the Corporate Fibre Supply Team to develop a fibre flow plan; developing a site weekly plan and monitor its implementation with area shift supervisors
Implementing a daily inventory monitoring system
Working with internal fibre customers to ensure correct furnish is provided for current demand and upcoming changes in demand
Monitoring fibre quality and working with local suppliers to maintain quality standards
Supervision, succession planning and training of the Fibre Handling, Foreshore, Chip Supply and Tug crews
Managing the work flow and work force levels of Chip Supply
Relieve Department Manager as needed
Plan and schedule maintenance of mobile equipment, foreshore infrastructure, chip screening buildings, silos and all foreshore/Kraft supply belts and reclaimers
Support capital projects for area projects
The successful candidate will possess post-secondary education in a relevant field and knowledge of hauling and materials handling equipment, maintenance and operating capabilities and the ability necessary to plan and coordinate the material flow in accordance with the mill’s needs.
