CORE FUNCTION:

Reporting to the Casino Manager, the Senior Games Manager will oversee the day to day operations of the table games on behalf of O’Chiese Gaming LP. The Games Manager is involved in the coordination of activities concerned with the implementation and monitoring of table games. The Games Manager will actively participate in the development and implementation of training programs and oversee its organization and scheduling.

Primary Core Responsibilities:

  • The Games Manager is the supervisor of the games area in the casino
  • Each casino is required to have a registered Games Manager on duty when the casino is in operation
  • The Games Manager has access to all areas of the casino (see exceptions in CTCOG)
  • The Games Manager ensures that the games area is operated in accordance with the CTCOG
  • The Games Manager must be present for casino float and chip verification with the Charity General Manager
  • Contact the AGLC immediately of all suspicions or evidence of cheating at play, theft, unexplained monetary discrepancies of $200 or more or other illegal activity (see sections 5.8 and 5.10 of the CTCOG)
  • Ensure conduct of all games on the gaming floor
  • Work in co-operation with advisors, charity workers and volunteers to ensure a professional casino operation for the overall benefit and integrity of charitable gaming
  • Ensure all casino workers are currently registered with the AGLC
  • Ensure shift schedules are prepared, and co-ordinate gaming staff breaks
  • Supervise pull of all drop boxes for interim and final counts or delegate registered gaming worker proxy and submit a discrepancy report
  • Ensure all drop boxes are attached to the correct table before and after each pull
  • Ensure security of games, including control and access to keys for chip trays
  • Ensure games area is arranged as required in Section 9 of the CTCOG and individual pits do not exceed 24 games
  • Provide pit supervisor with required forms
  • Receive cards following casino final close, ensures cards are kept in secure storage (minimum 14 days) and are defaced before releasing them
  • Report any error or procedural irregularities in games operations, including any breach of public order during casino to the charity general manager ensuring a Discrepancy Report with details is submitted to the AGLC as required (see Section 5.10)
  • Submit proposed new House Rules to the Licensing and Charitable Gaming Branch for review at least 21 days before implementation
  • Remain available to the charity at all times during the event and maintain a visible presence

COMMUNITY RELATIONS/ADVOCACY:

  • Establish good working relationships and collaborative arrangements with community groups, funders, politicians, staff and other Jackpot Casino/O’Chiese Gaming LP partners to help achieve the goals of Jackpot Casino and O’Chiese Gaming LP

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Knowledge of leadership and management principles as they relate to Casino Management
  • Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to the business sectors of Casino Management
  • Ability to work under pressure; self-motivated and self-directed
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Ability to read and write
  • Good communication and problem solving skills
  • Must demonstrate sound work ethics
  • Must be flexible and be able to work long hours to complete projects
  • Strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to interact with potentially difficult customers

  • Must meet AGLC’s requirements to become a registered gaming worker
