Overall Job Purpose:
Reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager, the Packaging QA Supervisor will be responsible for supervising and coordinating activities to ensure the overall quality of packaged products and associated processes to meet industry regulations and customer expectations. Reporting directly to the Packaging QA Supervisor will be the Packaging QA Technician(s).

This is a hardworking, hands-on, rolls-up-your-sleeves environment emphasizing a team-oriented and collaborative management style. It will be key for the candidate to embrace change and see past obstacles with a focus on solutions in the context of a company undergoing rapid growth and ongoing functional integration.

Responsibilities:
Primary contact for Packaging QA issues
Monitor Packaging’s overall safety and quality
Ensure the completion of QA review of Packaging process orders and Packaging forms
Compile monthly Health Canada CTLS report information relating to dried and packaged products
Lead packaging inventory counts
Maintenance of master inspection characteristics for Packaging processes in SAP
Monitor Compliance with QMS; conducting regular audits of procedures and documentation
Ensure timely entry QC Test results into SAP and co-ordinate with QA Manager on the release of dried harvest lots
Develop, edit, and implement Packaging SOPs
Develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives in Packaging operations,
Coordinate with QA Manager and GMP Advisor to develop, implement, and maintain QMS systems and GMP for Packaging processes
Ensure completion of SAP Quality Inspections for packaging processes
Monitor and inspect product, processes, facilities, and equipment in Packaging to ensure compliance to SOPs, GMP and government regulations
Perform risk assessments in Packaging and investigate non-compliances and deviations as required
Provide direction supervision of Packaging QA Technician(s), provide training, feedback, and ensure completion of assigned tasks
With help of the QA Manager, create and deliver performance targets and evaluations, including providing regular and consistent feedback to team

Candidate Profile:
Bachelor’s Degree in Science (biology, chemistry, biochemistry, pharma, food science, plant science)
A combination of University/College Science Diploma and job experience in Pharma/Food/Beverage/Cannabis would be considered
Minimum 2-years’ QA experience in Food/Beverage/Pharma/Cannabis
Experience in ERP systems; (ex. SAP) is considered a strong asset
Experience in the development and approval of SOP’s
Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow technical documents and procedures
Excellent communication skills with a well-developed professional manner and a focus on positive, productive business relationships
Excellent computer skills and well-developed knowledge of Microsoft office
