We’re looking for our next Communications Specialist. Could It Be You?

As part of the Marketing team, Questrade’s Communications Specialist will work to improve our customer journey and ensure Questrade is delivering on our mission & brand promise of ‘we care’ at every single touch point. Reporting to the Manager, Content & Communications, the Communications Specialist will be an in-house expert in content, and will craft copy for all of Questrade Financial Group’s lines of business as well as support any operational communications.

A Communications Specialist at Questrade is someone who can transform complex topics into plain language. You will be creating content to engage and educate our audience, as well as inform customers on important updates to their accounts.

You will support marketing teams with content designed to achieve quarterly and yearly priorities. You will write content to inform customers about matters related to their account, new product benefits, and important updates they need to be aware of. This can be in the form of email communications, key messages, correspondence templates, customer portal content, etc. You will inform frontline staff about customer communications (as well as overall communications plan) and providing information (ongoing education) to help frontline staff support our customers. You will guide customers and prospective customers through their journey—knowing when to use enticing emotional copy or clear step-by-step instruction.

You will research a subject, find insights and craft content for multiple channels (corporate website, landing pages, emails, e-books, editorials, social, etc.). You will ensure content is easy to understand. You will work with members of the creative team (designers and developers) to bring content to life and ensure the value proposition and story are clearly understood by the consumer. You will collaborate with subject matter experts to understand persona, product and service capabilities and value propositions for specific products and services. You will grow Questrade as a thought leader and advocate for Canadians. You will also ensure our brand voice, style and tone is consistent throughout Questrade applications and communications.

So are YOU our next Communications Specialist? You are if…

✔ You have 2-3 years’ experience in writing clear, persuasive copy/content (short-form and long-form) for a wide array of channels (web, print, email, social, etc.) and audiences (B2C and B2B).

✔ You have a Bachelors or Diploma in English, Communications, Marketing/Digital Marketing or a related field

✔ You are a strategic thinker and creative storyteller

✔ You have knowledge of the Canadian investment landscape, and a keen interest in fintech

✔ You have an eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and excellent grammatical skills

✔ You have the ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines

✔ You have project management skills and understanding how to manage the priorities of multiple stakeholders in a complex environment

✔ You have great presentation skills

✔ You have the ability to work well at all levels of an organization and interact confidently with senior management

✔ You are a self-motivated individual who isn’t afraid to bring new ideas to the table

✔ You are prepared to share a portfolio of work

Brownie points if you have…

✔ Experience in a regulated industry

✔ Advertising agency background

✔ Canadian Securities Course completion

✔ French bilingual and/or proficiency in Mandarin or Cantonese
