Located at the Calgary International Airport with direct access to tarmac (air side), we are perfectly situated to service our clients on and off the airport.

YYC Freight Services has always been committed to providing a superior work environment, and is proud of its established team of qualified employees. We are currently looking for a dedicated and motivated individual to join our team as a full time cargo runner/warehouse worker.

Responsibilities include:

  • Transporting outbound cargo to the flights and retrieving inbound cargo as required
  • Ensure all company vehicles are prepped; clean, fueled, maintenance is up-to-date, etc
  • Must practice all company’s Safety Policy inclusive of, but not limited to: wearing PPE, equipment operation, safe lifting procedures or obeying speed limits when driving company vehicles and equipment
  • Ensures Health and Safety standards and rules are both met and adhered to
  • Deliver high quality service to customers
  • Able to work outside in all types of weather conditions
  • Accuracy and attention to detail with ensuring the proper shipments are taken to the proper flights
  • Forklift operation as required to load/unload cargo in the warehouse
  • Handling all cargo with caution and ensuring any damage or discrepancies are immediately reported
  • Maintain communication with ramp and warehouse teams
  • Actively supports the company Safety Management System by participating in the program and acting appropriately for their role as defined within the SMS Manual
  • Be able to lift packages up to 35kg
  • Perform any other duties as required

The successful candidate will possess the following qualities:

  • Must be able to work shift work, weekends, and statutory holidays when required
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must be a Canadian citizen or a Permanent Resident
  • Able to pass security clearance (background check)
  • Must hold an Alberta Class 5 driver’s license and be eligible to obtain an AVOP
  • Previous warehouse and forklift experience are a major asset
  • Organized & extremely detail oriented
  • Must have exceptional typing and data entry skills
  • Welcoming and friendly personality
  • Must be a dynamic, self-motivated, and enthusiastic individual who thrives under pressure and is able to perform multiple functions and prioritize tasks accordingly
  • Must be able to pick up new concepts and learn new systems quickly
  • Must have a relatively flexible schedule and be willing to work additional hours when required
  • Must be proficient in computers
  • Refined verbal and written communication skills and excellent knowledge of English
  • Must have previous customer service experience
  • Must possess a keen eye for details and hold self-accountable
  • Must be able to adapt and work in a diverse culture and environment
  • Must have proven experience in making quick and efficient decisions
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Communicate effectively both orally and in writing in one or both official languages
  • Reliable Transportation


  • Wage is negotiable based on experience
  • Benefits Package upon completion of 3-month probationary period
  • Additional premium available if candidate has valid RAIC and AVOP-DA
  • Additional premium available if candidate has previous Dangerous Goods training
