As the Senior Manager, Budget Management and Financial Analysis - Global Risk Management (GRM), you will be responsible for preparing all aspects of the annual plan and periodic development of the budgeting, forecasting and reporting within GRM. You will support the GRM Financial Planning and Analysis team in ensuring financial plans, budgets, forecasts, reporting and analysis are executed/delivered in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures. You will also work closely with GRM Senior Management, Global Finance – Corporate Functions (CF), GRM Program Management Office (PMO), HR and other business partners, continuously looking for opportunities for process improvements, reporting and analysis efficiencies, and to deliver accurate financial management reports to Executives.
What will you do in this role?
Ensure the integrity and quality of GRM’s financial reporting to manage annual budgets, profit-planning, forecasting, reporting, and day-to-day support of GRM transit owners
Responsible for the accurate and timely delivery of all Financial Planning & Analysis reporting requirements such as but not limited to: monthly and quarterly forecasts (post quarter and mini update), headcount analysis, variance analysis and commentaries for Executive reporting
Provide monthly and quarterly operating budget reports to Global Finance, GRM transit owners (VPs, SVPs), the Chief Risk Officer, and Business Line Finance teams
Oversee the analysis of monthly expenditures, requesting information from transit owners, and other business units to explain and, in some cases, justify expenditures and allocations to provide rationale for increases
Ensure the forecast is created with accuracy and all key drivers for the functional units are considered to align actuals to annual plan
Responsible for the annual budget preparation, including analysis for growth and budget changes, for senior executives and, ultimately, the Board
Support the preparation of the annual Board Report. Works with GRM Executives, Global Finance, HR teams and staff in International locations to gather and validate inputs to the final report
Prepare presentations to GRM Executives to support expense management/reduction initiatives
Support the GRM enterprise productivity reporting and tracking for operating and headcount benefits
Create guidance documentation to ensure transit owners can adhere to budgeting and complement requirements
Support the finance technology tools, leveraging them to optimize processes through tool enhancements and ongoing innovation
Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions
What we’re looking for
Post-Secondary Education completed, MBA is a strong asset
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is an asset
5+ years’ financial management experience
Experience in leading and coaching a team is required
Analytical mind with a critical thinking, able to juggle multiple competing priorities with attention to detail
Self-driven, highly energetic and team player attitude
Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
Experience writing Executive summaries and presentation decks
Proficient in MS Office tools (particularly Excel and Power Point); and financial reporting software (Hyperion, OPEX, OBI); Working knowledge of Power BI is an asset
Able to meet tight deadlines and flexibility to work evenings as needed, often on short notice
