We are currently hiring for various positions - casual, permanent part-time and permanent full-time. Casuals must be willing to work all shifts including days, evenings, nights and holidays. Casuals can advance to permanent part/full time once hired. Not all positions require starting as a casual. Current opportunities for permanent posts include a part-time position focused on supporting residents to get out and enjoy community events. Full-time positions include working 1-1 with persons with more challenging needs who thrive with the right encouragement and opportunities. Some positions involve more personal care than others. We are looking for people who can establish a good rapport with our residents as well as follow programs that make it possible for our residents to enjoy their daily lives as active participants and decision-makers. Hour of work vary according to position. Our aim is to find the right people for these unique opportunities.

Salary ranges from $18.50 - $20.00. Positions covered by BCGEU guidelines get an additional 10.2% lieu pay. A comprehensive benefits plan is available for permanent staff who pass probation for all positions.
THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES WILL:
+ Be able to interact with residents with dignity and respect

+ Be able to learn and use positive support strategies
+ Be able to learn and follow Behavior Support and Safety Plans
+ Display strong ability for written, oral and interpersonal communication
+ Be experienced or willing to train in personal care and medication protocols
+ Understand and respect residents' privacy rights
+ Special Needs/Community Support Worker Certificate or
+ Related experience and training
+ BC Class 5 (required) BC Class 4 Restricted (willing to obtain)
+ Clear Criminal Record Check
+ Current First Aid Level 1 with CPR
+ Current Food Safe Certificate (willing to obtain)
+ Clear TB test
+ Physician's Assurance of good health
+ Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (willing to obtain)
+ Compatibility with residents/staff/position duties & responsibilities
