Nikkei (Canada) Marketing is a marketing and distribution company dedicated to introducing superior and innovative health and food products. Located in Richmond, BC, we are seeking a full-time Marketing Assistant (Maternity Leave Contract - August 1, 2019 to December 31, 2020) to join our team.

The Marketing Assistant is responsible for providing scheduled support to our Digital and Marketing teams and reports to the marketing managers. Our team is looking for an individual to assist in the management of our social media platforms and company websites, as well as assist in various marketing & administrative duties.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Digital Media Team:

  • Assist in the planning, scheduling and creation of social media and website copy that maintains a consistent on-brand style and voice, optimized for business goals. Content includes but may not be limited to company websites, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Twitter, Wechat, Weibo, LinkedIn and other corporate social media properties
  • Provide excellent and timely customer service by responding to comments, direct messages and customer service inquiries
  • Assist in monthly reporting on analytics and develop action plans where necessary
  • Provide support for administrative duties when needed
  • Attend events offsite that may occur outside regular business hours

Marketing Team:

  • Work with manager to create and execute innovative marketing collateral and projects
  • Work with manager to create and coordinate time-lines for marketing projects
  • Communicate with vendors as appointed by manager
  • Work with design team to develop marketing materials
  • Manage phone line and voicemail inbox
  • Manage customer service emails and other correspondences
  • Attend events offsite that may occur outside regular business hours

Experience:

  • College Diploma or University degree in English, Marketing, Communications or Journalism, or an equivalent combination of training and related experience
  • Digital marketing and social media experience – 1 year minimum
  • Creating written and visual online content – 1 year minimum
  • Customer service experience – 1 year minimum
  • Online advertising or social media advertising – 1 year minimum
  • Graphic design experience an asset
  • Video editing experience an asset
  • An understanding and passion of the health & beauty industry
  • Experience in working with social scheduling, listening and reporting tools
  • Experience in social media and website analytics and interpreting results to take action

Required Languages:

  • English - proficient/fluent/native speaker (required)
  • Cantonese and/or Mandarin - proficient/fluent/native speaker (required)
  • Vietnamese, Japanese or French is an asset (optional)

Skills:

  • Intermediate-Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Powerpoint, Excel)
  • Intermediate-Advanced knowledge in business applications of Social Media Networks
  • Exceptional customer service and copywriting skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in required languages
  • Understanding of content management systems
  • Basic Photoshop skills
  • Working knowledge of search engine optimization practices
  • Familiar with Google analytics
  • Ability to use initiative and independent judgment and problem-solving skills
  • Self-motivated and detail-oriented
  • Strong organizational skills
