Role:

Work closely with President & CEO to represent KAR Industrial Ltd. as the Sales Manager for Western Canada. Foster close working relationships with existing accounts as well as seek opportunities with new distributors.Support and provide assistance to the Marketing department as needed. Plan, execute and manage the sales and marketing activities of KAR Industrial focusing on accounts west of Ontario.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Become familiar with product line, current distributors and sales territory.
  • Establish a clear understanding of who the key contacts are at KAR’s accounts – the decision makers and the influential people.
  • Fortify KAR’s distributor relationship at all levels – management, sales and purchasing.
  • Focus on sales retention and growth with existing distributors and strategically seek out new distributors.
  • Cultivate accounts and develop long term programs and product acceptance that will promote repeat business and help re-establish KAR Industrial Ltd. as the leader in the market.
  • Work regional, national and distributor trade shows.
  • Manage KAR product inventory, product selection and product displays at the distributor level.
  • Support and execute KAR’s marketing and sales campaigns.
  • Evaluate and report on market activities, conditions and trends – competition, needs, influences, product performance and pricing.
  • Learn, understand and be aware of direct competition as well as competing distributors – their strengths, weaknesses, marketing methods, product offering and pricing.
  • Extract reports from the enterprise resource planning system (Streamline) – analyze and utilize data to monitor and improve sales.
  • Develop effective product presentations, new product launches and training materials via electronic media to teach and to help distributors become more familiar with KAR products.
  • Plan and schedule sales calls in advance with specific purpose and goals
  • Plan and promote joint sales calls with distributors to further strengthen relationships and to grow sales at the end user level.
  • Learn, understand and be aware of direct competition as well as competing distributors – their strengths, weaknesses, marketing methods, product offering and pricing.
  • Provide exceptional customer service – address complaints, troubleshoot problems and advise on product applications.
  • Develop a close working relationship with KAR teammates and colleagues by means of effective communication, sharing information and market feedback.

Qualifications:

  • At Least five years technical sales experience, plus three years machine shop experience preferable.
  • Self Starter who is self disciplined and well organized to work alone or in a team environment.
  • Proficient in time management.
  • Adept with Microsoft Office products.
  • Effective communicating, negotiating and closing skills.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Solid relationship building ability.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $60,000.00 to $80,000.00 /year
