Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is looking for a dedicated and results driven professional to join our team in the role of Senior IT Project Manager at our downtown Toronto, Ontario location. Reporting to the Senior Program Manager, Corporate and Renewable Generation, IT Projects, the Senior IT Project Manager is responsible for successfully implementing various application and technology infrastructure projects.

Manage large, complex projects with multiple diverse stakeholders
Independently lead all phases of a project in accordance with the OPG project management methodology
Responsible for the completion of all deliverables required of a Project Manager as defined by the methodology. For example, the project charter and post-implementation report
Facilitate the definition of the project scope, goals, objectives and deliverables with all impacted stakeholders
Independently lead a multi-disciplinary team of internal resources and external contractors to achieve project objectives
Manages change through effective communication and teamwork
Complete special projects as required
Develop detailed project schedules in collaboration with team members. Self-sufficient in the creation and maintenance of project schedules which reflect the realistic and unique project attributes and forward looking evolution of the overall project approach
Monitor and control project deliverables ensuring quality as per the OPG quality standards
Ensure projects meet internal and client expectations with respect to quality, budget, delivery timelines, and strategy
Identify and mitigate project risks and issues
Manage project change controls
Perform project closing activities including post review sessions
Works as a member of a team to achieve all outcomes
Perform all work in accordance with all established regulatory and compliance and safety requirements


4-year University degree in Computer Science or a related
PMP designation is considered a desirable asset


Preference will be given to candidates who bring the follow experience and qualifications:

Excellent conflict management skills
Strong organizational skills; ability to work independently and manage priorities
Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to relate well to internal and external stakeholders, clients and customers
