Lixar is looking for a Intermediate System Administrator to join our team. As a key contributor, you will help Lixar support internal and external clients. The ideal candidate will be a committed professional who has a strong sense of self and strives for perfection.

As an Intermediate System Administrator, you will have:

  • Exceptional communication skills with the proven ability to communicate effectively within a development team and with clients
  • Experience with Microsoft Infrastructure and Deployment
  • Experience with Azure Automation, Policies & Scripting
  • Experience writing scripts with Powershell, bash, python, or perl
  • Experience with cloud monitoring tools, application performance monitoring tools and operational-dashboarding
  • Experience with administering Windows operating systems, including:
  • Windows 10, Windows Server
  • Experience with root cause analysis, testing and debugging, network issues
  • Experience with interoperability between Unix and Windows LDAP/Active directory
  • Proven attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Experience working in a company where teamwork is paramount
  • Proven experience with git, and it's best practices

The following would be considered an asset:

  • Experience with infrastructure automation, CI/CD, networking and storage
  • Experience with DevOps with Azure, AWS and/or VMWare
  • Experience with Docker / Kubernetes.
  • Experience with automation tools such as Ansible, Chef, Saltstack
  • Experience in Agile development and/or Continuous Deployment methodologies is a definite asset
  • Experience with IP Network, IPSEC, L2TP, and OpenVPN VPNs, BGP, SIP, QoS, switch and firewall configuration, and related network protocols
  • Experience with administering application servers
  • Experience with administering Windows, Mac and Linux operating systems, including:
  • Windows 10, Windows Server, FreeBSD, CentOS, Debian, and Ubuntu linux distributions, Mac OS

What you will be doing:

  • Participate with infrastructure design and deployment
  • Responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date infrastructure monitoring, documentation and diagrams
  • Design and deploy solutions to solve problems or implement new services or features
  • Contribute to research and development of technical solutions
  • Perform application troubleshooting
  • Perform general application support activities for multiple testing environments
  • Appropriate utilization of helpdesk systems for purposes of logging, tracking and communication of daily support issues/requests both internally and to external vendor teams
  • Provide desktop and server hardware/software support
  • Coordinate and participate in incident management calls
  • Provide infrastructure support for multiple clients
