Legal Assistant Required For Calgary Family Law Associates

Calgary Alberta

Lawyer is seeking a part-time legal assistant that will provide her with administrative and legal support; this position is available immediately and offers a flexible schedule. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, great communicator verbal and written, organized and client service orientated. Confidentiality and discretion are paramount in this role, along with a strong work ethic and positive attitude. The ideal candidate will also possess the following skills and education requirements:

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities include:

  • Preparation of standard litigation documents
  • Work closely with lawyer to support and assist ongoing practice
  • Drafting revising, scanning and maintaining all files
  • Drafting/preparing/proofreading family law documents
  • The ability to handle corporate and land title searches
  • Processing highly confidential information
  • Processing invoices for payment, billing and collection reminders
  • Managing calendar, schedules and meetings
  • Providing excellent client service
  • Adhering to all practice and policies as set forth by lawyer
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
  • Fielding, managing and responding to general questions and inquires

Education & Experience

  • Legal assistant diploma from a recognized post-secondary institute
  • 5 years’ experience in a general legal practice
  • Experience using software such as PCLaw
  • Knowledge of materials or procedures related to Real Estate would be considered an asset
  • Analytical, time management and organization skills required
