As Assistant Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing facility operations and working closely with the Grain and Crop Inputs business.

Your day to day activities will include:
Leading the Sales Consultants in growing the volume of the crop inputs business with existing customers and proactively seeking out new business opportunities
Assisting with management of the grain shipment schedules via monitoring contracts and communicating with the office, merchants, and elevator staff
Monitoring Operators’ performance to ensure functions are being carried out safely and efficiently
Supervising grain handling and ensuring inbound and outbound products meet customer specifications and requirements
Ensuring timely and efficient scale operation for loading/unloading trucks
Working with Sales Consultants to source grain and monitor the market, communicating regularly with producers
Ensuring all health & safety policies and procedures are followed and standards are met
Managing budgeted sales goals for various aspects of the Crop Input business such as: Seed, Fertilizer, and Crop Protection
Maintaining the AWSA Manual proactively to ensure audits and spot check requirements are met.
Financial responsibilities for operating expenses
In collaboration with the Manager, mentoring, instructing, and educating employees in grading, inventory management, and safety practices.

The successful candidate should enter the position with the following qualifications:

Minimum 5 years of experience in a supervisory role dealing with Crop Inputs and Grain
Diploma or Degree in business, agriculture, or related field
CCA or P.Ag would be considered an asset
Knowledge of Inventory Management practices and processes
Grain handling and grain grading experience
Working knowledge in Health and Safety
Valid Driver’s License
