Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Vice President of Business Development will be an entrepreneurial and multi-faceted individual responsible for managing all aspects of our clients Capital fundraising activities. The Vice President, Business Development will be responsible for developing effective sales and marketing campaigns, prospecting and fostering relationships with new investors and providing exceptional client service to existing investors. As a member of the management team, the Vice President of Business Development will work with fellow executives and the Capital Board of Advisors on overall firm strategy and direction. Additional responsibilities will include:
Responsibilities Increase distribution of the firm's products through various distribution channels (high-net-worth, retail advisor, family office, and institution). Where applicable, obtain buy-in from distribution channel "gate-keepers" and manage the product due diligence and approval process
Identify and cultivate relationships with new clients. Secure investment from new clients and facilitate the onboarding process
Foster relationships with existing clients and provide exceptional client service
Attend conferences, and other industry-related events to develop new relationships, strengthen existing client relationships, remain current on industry best practices, and promote the organization
Develop and share sales, marketing and business development best practices ideas and strategies with fellow executives
Qualifications Post-secondary degree or equivalent experience required
Prior experience and/or qualifications for registration as a dealing representative of an exempt market dealer required in accordance with National Instrument 31-103
Possessing a CFA Charter would be an asset
Experience at a top hedge fund, private equity fund or asset manager is desired
A successful track record in asset management sales is desired
Business planning skills and a demonstrated ability to execute and track a sales strategy with measurable results
High level of integrity and commitment to maintaining confidentiality
Excellent listening, communication (both written and oral), presentation, and negotiation skills
Team player who is self-motivated and results oriented- must be willing to take initiative in a highly entrepreneurial environment
Ability to travel, including a valid passport, driver's license, and access to a vehicle is required
Minimum of 5 years of experience as described above
