Reporting to the Vice President, Risk and Security and Chair, Materials Stewardship Committee, the Risk Management Coordinator plays an integral role in the Risk Group department. Significant responsibilities include Travel Safely Program, International SOS Emergencies, Administrative support to the Vice President, Risk and Security and Chair, Materials Stewardship Committee and the day-to-day department administration and creation of PowerPoint presentations and highly demonstrative documents.

The Risk Management Coordinator liaises with internal and external clients including insurer representatives, operations’ senior employees and management, consultants and stakeholders on behalf of the Vice President Risk and Security and Chair Material Stewardship Committee.

Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
Negotiates and manages the International SOS program, which provides medical and security services to Teck’s employees travelling overseas.
Responsible for the administration of the Corporate Crisis Management Plan manuals, including issuing of call out cards and manual updates.
Responsible for the implementation and administration of the company-wide travel security program, and travel security monitoring.
Administers the Airline Insider and CR Travel Trackers Programs.
Responsible for South American logistics for the Risk Group’s employees and consultants.
Disseminates country intelligence reports to interested parties within the company, and Teck’s external news releases to BMCI directors.
Responsible for Headframe events requiring additional licenses and security service.
Responsible for management of Teck’s internal key system for offices and desks.
Reports the Risk Group’s attendance to HR.
Administers CGL insurance coverage under the Stand Alone Contractors Program, and Hole-in-One insurance policy, including operations’ and third-party’s insurance requests.
Reconciles the monthly expense accounts.
Assists with the creation and maintenance of the Risk Group’s SharePoint sites for internal and external use; troubleshoots and interacts with Teck Digital Systems and consultants.
Provides back-up to the Lead, Risk & Security on the administration of the Teck Security Management System access control system, programming access cards for new and existing employees and contractors as well as managing card access for visitors and contractors to the Vancouver Office.
Supports the Risk Group with the preparation of confidential documents, annual reports and presentations.
Other duties as required.

Verbal and written fluency in Spanish required.
Five years of professional working experience.
Education and/or experience that demonstrates knowledge of Business Administration and Insurance and Risk Management.
Proficiency with MS Office, SharePoint, Microsoft Visio, Mindjet Manager Professional, and Adobe Acrobat; speed and accuracy in word processing are essential.
Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a fast paced, team-oriented environment with changing priorities; flexible and adaptable.
Solid problem solving skills.
Ability to think critically, solve problems and make decisions independently.
Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Strong attention to detail.
Proven ability to prioritize and work under pressure with minimal supervision.
