We have an exciting opportunity for a Machinist to join our growing business on the afternoon shift at our QCI Stratford facility!

The Position

We are looking for a skilled Machinist who is able to complete the set-up and machining of new or replacement welded components or parts to fulfill custom specifications, customer orders, tooling demands and in-house maintenance requests.

The Job

You will operate a vertical turning lathe, horizontal boring mill and CNC Machines
You will set up and machine weldments to drawing specifications
You will select appropriate toolings for job requirements.
You will perform preventative and predictive maintenance on facility machinery
You will complete daily maintenance logs
You will communicate and assist co-workers, operators, supervisors, and leadhands when required.
You will ensure compliance with all Occupational Health & safety Regulations and Organizational Health & Safety Policies and Procedures.
You will follow all lock out procedures when doing repairs, and adjustments.
You will complete ITP paperwork.
You Skills Set

You have at least 2-3 years of experience operating a vertical turning lathe and horizontal boring mill
You have an advanced skill & experience required on one or more of the following machines/tools: lathe, mill, horizontal boring mill, vertical / drill press, horizontal cut off saw and Fanuc and Siemens
You have the ability to read, interpret blueprints.
You have the ability to work independently or as part of a team
You have excellent problem solving skills.
You have knowledge of cranes, forklift trucks, and various lifting devices and equipment.
You have the ability to frequently lift materials up to 30 pounds.
CNC experience is a must
