We are currently seeking a Regional Account Manager-San Diego, CA.
Summary of Position
This position must achieve annual sales objectives in a given geographical region. This committed salesperson must be able to achieve results through customer contacts and support activities, and develop and nurture the long-term relationships that will assure continued success and growth for the company.
Achieve annual sales objectives/goals in a given geographical region. *
Prepare and present an annual sales plan to management, with periodic updates as requested or as necessary. The plan must identify specific actions necessary to achieve sales goals.
Identify and develop special business relationships with dealer sales representatives and military/government/group accounts within assigned territory.*
Introduce and establish new products to key customers, through co-working and other regular contacts at dental offices, dealer branches, schools, hospitals, and government institutions. *
Identify, attend and participate at conventions within the territory and throughout the country, when needed. *
Maintain regular contact with customers, to develop long-term relationships, to help achieve corporate sales goals. *
Counsel dealer managers, military/government/group accounts, and/or purchasing agents on promotional opportunities, special programs, new product introductions, and related sales information.
Design, schedule, implement, and monitor promotional programs with qualified customers to enhance growth opportunities within the region.*
Complete other duties as assigned.
Functional Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
This position requires an individual with:
2-5 year’s sales experience, preferably in the dental business
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in health sciences, and/or business, or equivalent knowledge level and ability to perform substantially the same work as a degreed individual due to advanced knowledge through a combination of work experience and intellectual instruction.
The ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment in regard to significant business matters and duties.
Computer literacy and ability to adapt to a computer-based territory database management system
Excellent interpersonal, communications, and planning skills
Dental assisting and/or dental hygiene certification or other advanced knowledge of clinical dental skills is desirable
Ability to accommodate a customary and regular travel schedule, including an overnight travel schedule, approximately 25-50% depending on territory. Also, must occasionally work weekends. *
