PAL Aerospace is a proud partner of Airbus Defence & Space for the Government of Canada’s Fixed Wing Search and Rescue aircraft replacement (FWSAR) program. PAL Aerospace is responsible for FWSAR In Service Support (ISS) ranging from working alongside DND at 1st line to performing at Depot level the maintenance not undertaken by Royal Canadian Air Force Squadrons. PAL’s Depot level work also includes the embodiment of aircraft modifications and the conduct of Special Inspections.
This significant and exciting project will pave the way for innovation and opportunity within PAL Aerospace, while growing our operations. As part of the planned FWSAR program roll-out, PAL Aerospace is currently seeking a Technical Records Specialist in the FWSAR Main Operating Base (MOB) located in Comox, BC.
The Technical Records Specialist is responsible for maintaining the currency and accuracy of all technical publications, documentation and airworthiness records used and generated at the PAL Contractor Field Office. The Technical Records Specialist also ensures availability and operational effectiveness of all Contractor provided IT tools and devices including maintenance of contractor provided software and associated usage licenses.
Responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:
Maintaining the integrity of the records system through creation, storage, use, protection and control of technical records;
Administer the Electronic Information Environment (EIE) and control the distribution of updated Interactive Electronic Technical Manual (IETM);
Ensure that all publications are kept up to date and made available to the personnel performing maintenance, and aircrew, including instructions to assist in the management of multiple devices containing publications;
Coordinate the use and maintenance (including instructions) of the Portable Multipurpose Access Terminal (PMAT) laptop;
Provide written instructions to complement the Squadron’s instructions for the management of computer resources and ensure all Squadron laptops and tablets are kept up to date;
All activities will be developed in full compliance with applicable elements of the latest revision of the Technical Airworthiness Manual and the PAL Aerospace Maintenance Procedures Manual;
Provide management, maintenance and control of both Contractor and Canada publications and tools during normal working hours, Monday to Friday, eight (8) hours per day.
A minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in records management;
Completion of a post secondary program, focused on information/records management, would be considered an asset;
Familiar and comfortable with normal work-place IT hardware and applications
Strong administrative skills with the ability to organize complex data and documentation;
Experience monitoring record systems to identify and correct any outstanding errors;
Excellent analytical and research skills to identify and resolve problems or issues;
An eagerness to learn, coupled with the drive to advance your career in a heavily regulated environment;
A natural multi-tasker, able to adjust priorities on a changing schedule;
Capable of successfully obtaining Level II – Secret clearance; and
Capable of successfully obtaining ITAR / CCG clearance.
