Position: Site Manager – Educo Adventure School

Location: 100 Mile House, Canada

Ideal Start Date: April 1st 2020

Contract Length: April 1st – September 15th, 2020

Report to: Program Director – Educo Adventure School

Educo Adventure School is looking for a dynamic, passionate, and hardworking Site Manager to manage and coordinate the day-to-day as well as long term operational and logistic needs of our site up near 100 Mile House. The Site Manager will work alongside the Program Director to ensure the site is well taken care of and to provide on the ground logistical support to enable our on-site programming to run smoothly and safely.

Educo Adventure School aims to be more than just an outdoor classroom: we seek to create meaningful experiences that draw forth our students’ emotional, social, and spiritual development. We believe this is fostered through deepening connections with the natural world, embracing challenge, and learning the intricacies of intimate teamwork. We learn experientially – hands-on! Educo offers opportunities for young people to disconnect from the digital and online arenas and to cultivate a sense of belonging in the world as they journey through our local mountains, forests, lakes, and rivers. Educo Adventure School staff facilitate opportunities for youth to become self-aware and engaged with the people, communities, and natural world surrounding them.

The Site Manager is accountable for ensuring quality and completion of the following responsibilities through exemplary leadership, volunteer engagement, and delegation where possible:

Managing of all maintenance and operations of Educo Adventure School site

Managing and maintenance of all program equipment

Managing, maintenance, and accreditation of all program vehicles

Maintenance and accreditation of our low ropes course and climbing wall

Managing all site risk management

Developing and maintaining all site standard operating procedures

Creating and executing site development plan

Operations and Logistics management: extensive experience in operations and logistics of similar camp-style sites or residential sites

Low Ropes Course and Climbing Wall management: experience in accreditation and maintenance of adventure challenge courses and rock climbing walls

Site Risk management: excellent ability to assess and manage all possible risk on site

SOP development experience: familiarity with developing and maintaining appropriate standard operating procedures for similar sites or residential locations

Site Development: ability to think ahead and create plans to ensure the site stays in good working order, is prepared for any future needs, and used to the fullest of its potential

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite

5+ years of Operations Management

3+ years experience in adventure program accreditation and operations

Volunteer Management experience

Construction/Building experience

Program staff live and work on site at our beautiful remote base camp, 30km west of 100 Mile House in the Cariboo region.

Accommodation and food provided when onsite.

Wage: 3,400-4000 CAD per month, depending on experience and qualifications
