Job Summary:

We are looking for a candidate who loves all aspects of design. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently or as part of a project team. They will have the ability to think creatively and be detailed in contract documentation. They can take a design brief and run with it!

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Work on a variety of projects through all phases of design from programming, concept development, design development and contract documentation
  • Provide direction to junior designer and furniture design
  • Prepare building-permit-ready drawings, specification information and coordinate with Structural, Mechanical and Electrical Engineers
  • Manage contract administration including addendums, site instructions, change orders, and related tasks
  • Attend consultant and site meetings, prepare meeting minutes and site review documents

Qualifications and Skills:

  • ARIDO would be beneficial
  • Completely proficient in AutoCAD, MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Very familiar with Adobe Acrobat
  • Experience with programs such as Photoshop, Power Point, Sketch-Up
  • Demonstrable knowledge of the Ontario Building Code
  • Demonstrable understanding of basic space planning principles
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in commercial interiors and tenant development
  • A sound knowledge of interior construction details is expected
  • Excellent organization and documentation experience required
  • Ability to take the lead or delegate as needed, and manage others
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, including graphic presentation
  • An interest or demonstrable knowledge in LEED or sustainability guidelines
  • An interest in or ability to obtain BCIN
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $55,000.00 to $85,000.00 /year

  • Interior Design: 3 years (Preferred)

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree (Preferred)
