Mobile Data Technologies is seeking Electronics Support Technologist to keep pace with expanding sales and product development. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the successful candidate will provide technical support for the electronic products produced by the company. The standard work day for this position is eight hours per day and 40 hours per week, with eligibility for overtime for hours worked over the 40 hours per week.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities Include:
Support production team with assembly of products
Assemble computers including drive imaging, OS installation, and software configuration
Provide technical support to customers through telephone, email and a remote access program
Provide field technical support for new & existing installations
Interact and coordinate effectively with all other company departments
Configure and test communication equipment such as LAN/WIFI networks, cell modems and radio modems
Test and calibrate completed products
Recommend changes in circuitry or installation specifications to simplify assembly and maintenance
Write technical manuals and develops schematics to describe and illustrate system operating characteristics
Provide after-hours customer phone support on a rotational basis (company cellphone provided)

Desired Skills & Qualifications:
Graduate of a diploma program in Electronics Technologist/ Computer Engineering Technologist
Computer literacy is essential for the role, so candidates will need to be experienced with Windows XP/7/10 and Microsoft Office 2007/2013 (Excel, Word, Outlook, OneNote)
Mechanically inclined and able to troubleshoot and solve problems
Experience with field support would be an asset
Experience in the oilfield or with oilfield related products would be an asset
Experience with computer programming would be an asset
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to relate effectively with all disciplines at all levels of the company
Motivated self-starter who can manage their time effectively
Personal growth potential that can keep pace with the expanding needs of the company and the business
A valid driver’s license
A passport for international travel (mainly North America)
