Our 60 Endocrinologists, many of whom are nationally renowned for their areas of expertise, are supported by an interdisciplinary team of highly qualified Medical Office Administrators, Medical Assistants, Registered Nurses, Registered Dietitians, Physician Assistants, Pharmacists, Optometrists, Opticians, Optical Assistants, Chiropodists and Clinical Research Professionals.

Currently, our rapidly expanding team is looking for a Regional Medical Office Administrator/Medical Assistant on a permanent, full-time basis providing support to all LMC locations in the GTA .

Access to a reliable vehicle to travel to various LMC sites is required.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Medical Office Administrator:
Coordinating patient visits along their care path, especially across LMC's multidisciplinary services: Chiropody, DEP, Optometry, Pharmacy and Research
Completing all daily tasks such as providers tasks and assignments, external referrals to other specialists, diagnostic bookings and other tests for all providers
Responding to all telephone inquires and retrieving and returning messages
Checking in patients (reception/registration) and checking out patients (scheduling/ follow ups)
Completing physician's daily tasks and assignments
Liaising with medical laboratories/physician offices for appropriate patient documentation
Management of all patient appointments appropriately and physicians' schedules
Handling incoming and outgoing mail, faxes and shipments (site specific)
Assisting with external referrals to other specialists and programs (i.e. specialists, tests etc)
Assisting with completion of third party forms and letters when required
Providing required information to billing department to process medical billing when needed
Processing patients accounts receivable (credit card, debit, cheque & cash payments) when required
Liaising with medical laboratories/physician offices for appropriate patient documentation
Handling incoming and outgoing mail, faxes and shipments (site specific)
Other administrative duties as assigned

Medical Assistant:
Coordinating the flow of patients in the examination and treatment areas to ensure efficient use of the facility and the Physician's schedule
Ensuring proper documentation (i.e. patient information and forms are accurate in patient chart) and when necessary liaising with medical laboratories and/or Physician offices for appropriate patient documentation
Preparing patient for physician evaluation, including but not limited to, measuring vital signs, such as pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, height, weight, and BMI and record information on patient's chart appropriately
Identifying patients for possible participation in a Research Study
Collecting patient medical and social history
Reviewing medication list for accuracy and completion
Preparing examination rooms with necessary medical supplies

Requirements preferred, but not limited to:
Access to a reliable vehicle to travel to various LMC sites is required.
Proficiency in measuring various vital signs such as (manual blood pressure, pulse)
Previous Personal Support Worker or Medical Laboratory experience is considered an asset
Diploma in Medical Office Administration an asset
Proficient knowledge of Electronic Medical Records system (knowledge of Accuro is considered an asset)
Sound knowledge of medical terminology
Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
Excellent customer service skills
Superior time management skills
Excellent attention to detail is required
Good communication skills (both verbal and written)
Excellent computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
