We are looking for an experienced leader in the learning field. Someone whose middle name is innovation and who has an endless cache of successful creative learning solutions with special focus on microlearning, mobile and next-gen. You are an out-of-the box thinker and know how to push the boundaries in developing engaging and effective learning experiences. Your creative solving skills will elevate the learning offer for our Connected Home Sales clients and your natural leadership capabilities and experience will help to develop strong partnerships with our business and internal partners. You have developed high performing creative teams in the past and you will be a natural fit on the OD TAL Learning Innovation Lab team. You will lead a team of tenured instructional designers, learning architects and quality assurance specialists to support the Connected Home Sales Unit at Rogers.

You have previous experience as an instructional designer or developer, so you understand what it takes to push the limits and you are well versed in new technologies and trends in the learning field. You work well under pressure and can lead your team through periods of transition and change. You always look for ways to improve processes, gain efficiencies, and to showcase the incredible work your team has delivered. You have led the implementation of next gen learning technologies and microlearning projects.

What you will be doing:
Evolve the Learning experience at Rogers by recommending effective and engaging learning solutions in collaboration with Connected Home Sales and OD partners related to learner development and performance
Develop deep understanding of the Connected Home Sales, challenges, opportunities, and audience by meeting regularly with business partners, participating in WAMs, attending BU meetings and townhalls, etc.
Ensure that design and development solutions are engaging, high-quality, audience appropriate and sustainable
Lead the development of training materials, promoting aspects of the OD TAL Learning Strategy and trends in learning
Challenge status quo solutions by injecting new ways of learning including social, microlearning, mobile, JIT and more engaging ILT experiences
Identify opportunities to improve efficiencies, decrease complexity, leverage economies of scale and skill and technology, to reduce overall learning expense and improve learning solution effectiveness
Participate in the standardization and evolution of workflow processes and methodologies both within the Learning Innovation Lab team and within the broader OD TAL organization
Monitor and manage progress of design projects, milestone achievements and remove roadblocks to manage risks, issues, and escalations
Assign resources to projects based on skillset, capacity, and project prioritization
Lead internal initiatives in support of the OD TAL Learning Strategy and departmental priorities
Evolve knowledge of best practices in learning and development solutions, industry best practices, and implementation solutions
Leverage the learning management system to measure, track and report regional training participation, impact, resource utilization and operating metrics
Report team performance and impact in a meaningful manner to internal and external audiences
Collect data and analyze trends & results to ensure continuous improvement and increase return on investment
Lead, coach, and develop a team of instructional designers, developers, and analysts
Monitor and analyze individual and team results to determine coaching priorities and opportunities, and to develop action plans to enhance performance
Establish and monitor performance benchmarks in designer utilization and Learning Hours Produced

What you have:
Demonstrated leadership experience (5 years+) managing direct reports and building a high performing instructional design function within a corporate setting
Successful track record with planning and executing strategy
Proven success (3+ years) in developing engaging learning strategies for sales or business audiences, which resulted in successful tactical implementations and supported changes of behaviour, knowledge and skills, measurable through KPIs
Experience building client relationships (3+ years) with concrete examples of leadership, negotiation, and influencing skills
An impeccable reputation for integrity, accuracy, consistency, big picture orientation and business acumen
Excellent communications skills with experience interacting effectively with executive clients
Previous virtual leadership (3 years+) experience with direct reports in geographically dispersed environments
Ability to plan, prioritize and set goals in a rapidly changing, highly complex matrix environment
Demonstrated strong analytical skills
Solid track record applying critical thinking to solving complex issues
Sound judgement
A strong and effective manager and leader, with examples of capabilities to attract, mentor, retain and performance manage staff
Results oriented with outstanding ability to motivate teams and mobilize the resources to accomplish objectives
Able to effectively and constructively lead change in an organization
Demonstrated understanding of adult learning strategies
Dedicated, enthusiastic, driven and performance-oriented; possesses a strong work ethic
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Prior experience in the telecommunications industry is preferred
University, College or Post Graduate Certificate in Training and Development, preference in instructional design
