Cedar Grove Composting is a local, family-owned business with deep roots in the Seattle area dating back to 1938. Cedar Grove plays a critical role in the Puget Sound’s recycling infrastructure and sustainability efforts, diverting more than 350,000 tons of yard waste and food scraps from landfills annually. With two processing facilities in Maple Valley and Everett, Cedar Grove is a local manufacturer providing green jobs in King and Snohomish Counties. Cedar Grove produces wholesome, nutrient-rich compost that is sold to businesses, governments and residents, ensuring consumers have access to locally produced, recycled products.
Operate a computer terminal to input customer data and assure proper charges to customers; receive and count money, make change and prepare related reports; assist customers in product purchasing and applications. Accurately judge/measure incoming yard waste. Responsible for keeping office area clean. Must be available to travel between all the bulk yards to fill in as needed. This position will be based out of Seattle and will need reliable transportation to float between the Everett, Maltby, Bellevue, Seattle and Maple Valley facilities as needed.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Receive and count money, make change and prepare related reports; balance the till daily; assure charged transactions are signed according to established procedures.
Operate a computer terminal to input customer data and assure proper charges to customer; run and reconcile transaction journals and cash tickets; print daily transaction summaries and close out daily input on computer; perform general data entry, submit reports to supervisor as required.
Answer telephone and direct calls to appropriate personnel.
Assist customers on product selection, purchasing, and order processing.
Perform related duties as assigned.
Operate a computer terminal to enter data, maintain records and generate reports.
Basic math and cashiering skills.
Make change quickly and accurately.
Observe health and safety regulations.
Learn company’s organization, operations, policies and objectives.
Work independently with little direction.
Work courteously and tactfully with customers and associates.
Learn basic product knowledge and uses.
Any combination equivalent to graduation from high school and one year cash handling or customer service experience.
Any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
