The City of Coquitlam is currently seeking a dynamic Recreation Program Coordinator with solid skills in delivering recreation programs in a diverse and sport-minded community. This supervisory position will coordinate the growth and development of arena programs for a variety of ages and abilities. In addition, the work involves training and evaluating staff, evaluating programs and ensuring a high level of customer service.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in community recreation programming in the municipal setting, working with a variety of ages, and will have a strong working knowledge of arena industry trends. Candidates must be accomplished ice skaters with arena programming experience. Additionally, qualified candidates will have experience training and mentoring volunteers.
The successful candidate will have completed a university or community college program with a degree or diploma in recreation or related discipline plus sound related supervisory experience, OR an equivalent combination of training and experience. The successful candidate will have experience in public recreation delivery, programming ice and dry floor space, working with community sport associations, and organizing and supervising the planning and delivery of arena recreation programs. A Driver's License for the Province of British Columbia is required.
